1.50 -> 1.0 Downgrader Released

That's right, as mentioned directly below this post, the 1.50 to 1.0 downgrader is now here! This program will downgrade any 1.50 PSP to 1.0 resulting in the ability to run unsigned EBOOT's exploit-free! Similar to the previous 2.50/2.60 downgrader, you will require helper files from firmware 1.0. Below are quoted step-by-step instructions from README.TXT:

Instructions for the existing 1.0 user: - Copy the downhelper100 folder to /PSP/GAME/ and start the program. - It will dump your flash and your ipl to the memory stick. After finished, the program will exit. Send the folder created at the root of your memstick called DOWNDATER to someone with 1.50 to let him downgrade. Instructions for the 1.50 user: - Copy __SCE__downdater100 and %__SCE__downdater100 to /PSP/GAME/ - Get the DOWNDATER folder from someone with 1.00 and put it in the memstick. - Get the official Sony 1.50 update and put it under /PSP/GAME/UPDATE - Start the program. Note: you need to set the language of your psp to either english or japanese before starting (anyways, it will advice you if you don't have that requirement and it will exit safely) Also, connect the PSP to the AC adaptor. - After a confirmation with the X button, you psp will be flashed to 1.00. DO NOT REMOVE the memstick and DO NOT shut down the psp.

Remember - this writes to the PSP's flash memory which is considered dangerous - you may possibly brick your PSP. With that in mind, use with caution and at your own risk! You can fetch the official Sony 1.50 update from our downloads area, here. Now that you've read over the instructions and feel confident enough to downgrade your 1.50 to 1.0: Download the Downdater 1.50 -> 1.0! Uhh.. first of all post the 1.0 files like you did with the 2.50/2.60 downgrader, because I dont know about you, but I dont have a friend with 1.0 firmware sitting next to me SINCE THEY ONLY CAME OUT FOR ONE WEEK IN JAPAN.

second of all, the advantage to this is that with 1.0 you will be able to edit the firmware and instead of just homebrew apps peaople can actually add functions to the firmware, or releases an entire new firmware.

plus its cool to have a 1.0 psp i guess.

Ill be downloading when someone comes out with a much better firmware that looks just as cool.

Why does everytime something come out people whine! Maybe you would like some cheese to go with that! It is progress and opens the possibility to running unassigned firmware (i.e. custome firmware) on the psp, thus allowing the possibility for us to play any game! All we do is update the firmware as Sony updates it! Just give it a bit more time, but don't knock it! THAT IS TOTALLY POINTLESS!!!

The reason the 1.0 file isn't listed is due to copyright. It doesn't take a genious to work that one out.. thats right i'm talking to you jay.

And the average user doesn't need 1.0.. but it will eventually lead to custom firmware.. which is something we can all enjoy.. but thats a while off yet.

haha this is great! Is this even safer to use then the 2.5/2.6 one? You guys are right theres nothing I know of that 1.0 can load that 1.5 can't and most homebrew is pre-formatted to 1.5 now but its still pretty pimp and easy enough to convert 1.5 brew back to 1.0 w/ seipsptool,etc

Geeze, you skeptics are really, REALLY stupid. How can the prospect of using custom firmware NOT be entirely groundbreaking?! Think outside the box for a moment...not only (in a short while) will you be able to run any ISO that sony makes, but it's entirely possible that you will be able to do other very useful things from the XMB that even Sony hasn't included in there FW's. Somebody can make a firmware that includes a flash player, Windows Media Player, Instant messenger, just to scratch the surface. You may be able to play on POGO off your psp, for example. Come on, guys...this new breakthrough has the potential to take your psp's WAY beyond gaming.

Downgrading to 1.0 with custom firmware WOULD make 1.5 useless (after a bit of dev) hence all the whining from 1.5 users. Your 1.5 is now not worth as much. Get over it. It's called "progress". If you spend some time in the real world you'll know what that means.

WHAT YOU NEED TO USE 1.50 eboots on 1.00

you need PSPbrew_051

download and install, then open it and on the left click on 1.50->1.00 and select the relevant % and non-% eboot files from thier folder adn save the new eboot in a different folder THERE ALL DONE.

p.s this eboot patcher does not copy over the rest of the files and folders, just the eboots so you will have to manually copy them over

Just downgraded. The immediate benefits are few to none (only one I've noticed is that you don't need to have the 2 folders for homebrew to run). But in the long run this is a huge advancement. Once the dev's start to (if they haven't already) develop custom firmwares we will be able to do so many things that Sony doesn't want us to (aka. fun things). I'm looking forward to how crazy everything will become once the first custom firmware (that doesn't need a UP chip) comes out.

ok...lets put it this way: Now we have EVEN IF YOU BRICK YOUR PSP, it is not lost forever...you will only need a modchip...with the downgrader to 1.0 we have ALL ACCESS to ANYTHING in hardware and firmware....what does not make the modchip pointless is the fact that you may need to unbrick your psp, and sure we have yet the new PSPs with new versions...but anyway, to write it in a clean mode....WE WILL BE ABLE TO HAVE LINUX, FLASH PLAYER, PALM OS AND WHATEVER ELSE !!! :| ITS AWESOME AT ALL !!!

I just cannot get this to work. I have tried everything that i possibly can and think of. First, i tried getting everything back to normal, my boot video. still didn't work. then, formated my memory stick. no working. i finally tried uping to 2.00 then going down to 1.50 and still doesn't work. i get the whole extracting prx then it goes black and doesn't work. i need help please.

Hmm, its a good proof of concept, however guys, don't go to it now because 1.0 had a big flaw besides the unsigned code. It ran the CPU at 333mhz at all times. That was an upgrade in 1.5, allowing the cpu to run at the low speed then increase depending on what the software called for. so if you run 1.0, your battery won't last as long, especialy if you use your psp for music alot where full speed is not required.

BUT can be used to create a custom firmware? I was really bored so I used my friends 2.60 psp and downgraded it to 1.5...it worked....then i was like "okay it worked from 2.60 -> 1.5 so im gonna try 1.5 -> 1.0" ...I did it any i accidentally dropped it while it was writing to the flash and the AC adapter, battery, and the UMD popped out and Bricked His PSP LOL!!! This mean's that you are eable to run costum firmware , like epilos bios, this 2 moths are great for psp users, first 2.5, 2.6 kernel acces, 2.5/2.6 - 1.5 downgrader, then 1.5 -1.0 downgrader ;) and now just wait for devhook 2.71

So does this only work on virgin 1.5 PSPs?
mine was upgraded to 2.0 then downgraded to 1.5 and I changed the gameboot, fonts, and start up with pspset and X-flash, so can i downgrade or will mine brick?

hey can someone please give me a copy of their 1.5 files in order to use the 2.6 downgrader? Ive been trying to get them for months and if someone would email me that would be great. I just recently got a ton of emulators and games but cant use them because my psp is upgraded to 2.6

so if you would email the files to cerebralocelot@ hotmail.com It would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, this is not on topic here i realize nevertheless i maintain two or three blogengine blogs and i am becoming a little sick of a lot of the downsides of using the application. I cannot seem to find the right url structure that's available with WP without planning manually. Yet another thing is looking for quality plugins is usually hard. Seems to take longer also to get my blogengine blogs showing up in msn. Are there any benefits of wp blogs over say blogger or blogengine that I might be missing out on?
