PSP L/CFW 6.60 ME v1.6 Released

Submitted by greg; October 14, 2011

Guess who? It's neur0n back again with another custom firmware update! It's 6.60 ME v1.6 -- and the change log says...
  • Change CPU clock from 199/99 to 200/100.;
  • Update VshMenu. Now you can use translate text.
  • Fixed a ISO size when dump it through USB in XMB.
I believe the third item stems from this. So if you've already installed that, and you don't care about translating the VSH Menu or about adjusting the CPU clock, then you need not upgrade ... not right this second anyway. Still though -- it's better than a Sony firmware update ... and it's not mandatory. i think there's still a bug in the recovery menu, sometimes the word just changed, like exit recovery becomes currently/ toggle USB becomes configuration, i'm using psp fat 1004, with 6.60 ME 1.5

So, is it possible to install the LCFW version on an E1000? I know it says "all models", but still, I want to be sure. If it can be installed, I'll be buying the E100, because my 1004 is kind of at the end of its lifespan. :(

You may have figured it out by now, but this is from iamafreak's amazing tutorial in the Dashhacks forum :)

1. Open VSH menu by clicking on the Select button from xmb(main psp menu)

2. Change USB device to Flash0

3. Connect your psp to pc

4. Navigate to \vsh\etc\

5. Open version.txt using notepad or wordpad

6. In the first line change the 9.90 to 5.50 and save.

You need to connect your PSP via USB, and fine the version.txt file, change the 9.9 to something lower than what you want to install.

Note, you'll most likely need to use the VSH menu to get to version.txt, maybe Advanced, USB connect or something like that.

nope, this only LCFW or CFW, you still need OFW, its mean this is only a patch, you still need the base or the master, in this case its OFW 6.60

hi, I would like to know what's the difference between HEN and ME, and which CFW is better for my 2001 psp, the one for 6.60, 6.35, 6.39 or 6.20. I'm new to this and don't know the differences, thank you.

well this has to to be my favorite 6.60 cfw. in the readme.txt it does not say it was tested if it instals when you have 6.60 pro b10 well if you have patched ipl and 6.60 pro b10 you can instal this. plus this has cxmb
