It was a feat when the Vita was running unsigned code in under 24 hours from release. The celebrations only lasted so long continued as Sony started forcing the 1.510 firmware update. Now, another Hello World proof of concept has surfaced on the new firmware from an anonymous developer.
The Hello World still works through the PSP emulator on the Vita. Like the previous Hello World, it is an user mode exploit and it will not be able to give you access to the internal functions of the console unless a way is discovered to "break the sandbox nature of the emulator." At least, it will be that for starters.
Like the majority of other exploits available, it is being kept on the down low until further progress is made and to stay a step ahead of Sony patching up everything. You can take a look at the exploit in action in the source link below.

Awesome stuff, can't wait to start writing software for this beast.
Hopefully by the time i've saved up for one we'll all be running code on the vita itself.
Good work so far guys.

You know what, Sony is digging its own grave with what they're doing. I was stoked for the PSVITA initially when news of it first went its rounds, but with every update on the device, and every article I read the excitement is evaporating.
Really, what it comes down to is either to let the users do what they want with the handheld, or cage everyone up in draconian DRM and the like. You can bet that I will not spend a cent on the PSVITA if Sony takes the ladder route, which is what they seem to be doing.
I won't flip out as much over the memory stick requirement, or the internet requirement for putting files on the device (even though both are outrageous). What I'd really flip out over is if Sony made single-player games require an internet connection to start up. That, and if Sony made an internet connection to get any games playing at all (I want to be able to gift the PSVITA to someone, and that someone only has to go to a store to buy the game to be able to play).
I'm looking forward to more hacks! Until then, the PSVITA does not have any merit for purchase.

That is what is happening on the PSP. It is already hack all the way through, so you can sign homebrew to actually run on it without CFW or a HEN.

This is amazing progress, in such short time. I bet you Sony has sites like psx-scene and this one under tight servalence, so they know what's going on. Sony seems to be combating hacks VERY actively, while Nintendo has obviously given up. Apple and Microsoft sort of passivly patch things up, which I find amusing. Nintendo released SystemMenu 4.3U/E/J/K back in June 21, 2010 and it is the most current firmware for the wii. Which tells me they've given up. I just hope the Wii U is just as easily exploitable. I love having the idea of running ALL my games from USB harddrives or flash storage, in the case of the PSP and the Vita.

This console only have any meaning to me if it's open to development, my PSP was a handheld 16bit console and PSX. With the power of the PS Vita, i expect that a PS2/Dreamcast emulator to be feasible (and a faster N64).
