First, Sony said that they dropped Adobe Flash support in the Vita. Next, they said that the Vita will be locked to one PSN account per console. Now, Sony is here with something new saying that some games will require the Vita's proprietary memory card in order to be playable. Sony says that they want every Vita player to have the same brand of memory cards used so that load times will remain the same across the board and that the card requirement is also an anti-piracy method.
The games confirmed for the card requirement include @field, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Dream Club Zero, Disgaea 3, Hot Shots Golf 6, Monster Raider and Ridge Racer. Three of the titles right off the back are flagship titles so to speak, that made the original Playstation Portable lineup interesting. In case you don't know the prices of the memory card, it's $24.99 for a 4GB, $39.99 for an 8GB, $69.99 for a 16GB and $119.99 for a 32GB.
Now with this tidbit in play, canceled pre-orders anyone?

What a ripoff. The memory card prices are too high in comparison to what flash memory or HDDs cost today.

Seriously? PSN account locked to one console?
What if it breaks (Because we all know it will at some point.)
And you get a new one? Will you still not be able to logon if you had previously with your past Vita?

How much storage space will 1 game eat up? 1gb? More?
Sony are getting too greedy. They should just stick to Memory Stick Duo, which is already an extra cost as most devices use micro SD.
Their cards will be cloned & sold in no time. Never before have console manufacturers been able to stop third party companies from making their own compatible cards. Sony is gunna lose out big time. Again.

No Flash? You've gotta be kidding me. I know Flash is bad and all but come on!
The more I read about the PSV, the less I want it. Yet another "anti-piracy" measure, eh? I'll be laughing in Sony's face when all of this DRM and piracy-protection ends up to naught. It'll all get hacked, and all their efforts would be in vain.
Those memory cards better be damn fast for that price.

Have you seen the price of PS3 pads recently? I gave the price tag the eyebrow, then walked away glad I didn't own a PS3.

Yeap. Sony is getting too greedy. Just like capcom with all their DLC. I wonder if it'll end up like 3DS at launch. I don't mind if it requires whateva memory card, you'll need it anyway. But the prices are too high, such a ripoff. This is one of the reason why people prefer to pirate rather than buying. Absurd prices. I was really interested in getting one. Now gradually with each news, the interest kinda died down. Oh well, price cut or no buy. Even the games cost the same as PS3 games. WTF!

What?! If this things go on maybe I won't buy PSV.
I think I will buy it on 2013 and see if it already been hacked and see the problems first. This thing for sure will have some stupid error somewhere. Anyone who will buy it next year please share the problems here. I don't want to waste my money again like I waste it on buying Xbox 360. I wish PSV have Skate 3.

I'll buy it once it's hacked.
For now, looking at so many bad new... nah!

I'll buy it once it's hacked, or maybe when a Vita Slim comes out.
I hate it when $0ny does that, which means I hate $0ny every time.

You're reading that backward. They're not saying one console per account, they're saying one account per console. So, in other words, you wouldn't be able to go on PSN with your account, and then hand your vita to a friend and let him access his account on it.

Well look on the bright side..... at least there doing it now before its launched to take it away instead
of doing it later after you payed for it. Now you have the option to keep it if you still want it or get ur money back~

That's bullshit, the card is a MS Pro Duo with some extra border attached to it. It even has the same 10pin count. Just more ways to rip people off.

... there's nothing Sony could do to stop me from buying it at this point.
Attaboy, that's the consumer whore spirit!
