A while back one of our readers suggested that we check out a Pokemon hack by the name of Pokemon Flora Sky after reading an article we had posted about a different Pokemon hack you should already know by now called Pokemon Liquid Crystal. So we figured why not give it a go and see what exactly this version is all about. After spending about an hour on it myself this is what I can tell you about the Pokemon Flora Sky hack. So we figured why not give it a go and see what exactly this version is all about, and after spending about an hour on it myself this is what I can tell you about it.
Pokemon Flora Sky is a hacked version of the popular Emerald version of the game we have all come to love as our now dirty little secret. Whats different in this version is that the graphics have received an update all around using sprites from gen 4 and 5 and Pokemon and contains over 380 different Pokemon and revolves around a new story and whole bunch of new stuff like TMs and HMs to name a few. But lets get down to what counts. How it plays.
After spending an hour on the video game I found that the controls work just as well as the original emerald version and the game starts off in generally the same way too. You start off in a small town you have just moved to and you are sent to see Prof. Birch and you end up meeting his daughter in the upstairs part of his house. After you leave you have to track down the good Prof in a cave which leads to your first battle of the game. After which you end up back at his lab and then are sent off into the wilderness to find his daughter. From there it generally goes the same as any other Pokemon game from what I can tell. You catch Pokemon, you raise Pokemon and then you repeat. That said it is a solid video game and worth a look if youre into the Pokemon series.
Installation is easy. Just download the GBA rom from the link below and put it in the same folder as you normally would with your Gameboy Advanced emulator (usually in the folder named ROM) if you're using the gpSP emulator on your PSP or PS Vita than make sure that it is set to boot from the ROM and not the Bios or it will not start, so enjoy the game and if you can think of anything else we missed let us know and well take a look.

I was playing this particular ROM-hack some time ago, and it's really great. It's already on its final state but has a few bugs left. But none that affects the main gameplay. Without being biased, I'd say this is better than Pokemon Liquid Crystal.

Second you need a GBA emulator there is a link to one on this page (gpSP) right before the link to download Pokemon Flora Sky on the link labelled download. Then from there it's a matter of unzipping the files using an unzip program that supports .rar there are many out there that are free so search the web and find one if you don't already have one. Now once you unzip both files you need to put the game in the rom section of the emulator. And put it all in the game folder of your psp. Now you're almost done you will also need to google gba_bios.bin and download that and put it in the folder with the Eboot.pbp. Then it all should work. The Bios bin is very important in making any GBA emulator run so don't forget to put it in there.
