Early in 2013, Frostegater let us in on the surprise that they had found a brand new exploit to run homebrew on the PS Vita. Lucky for all of us, that little hack came in the form of a much beloved card game for PSP known as Uno. With just a little savegame trickery here and there, folks on OFW has high as 2.0.2 have been able to enter into this great scene of gamers that has more or less been around since the unit's launch. However, as usual when a new hack is announced, homebrew hopefuls had to sprint their way to the download servers as quickly as possible to make sure they got the special title before it was removed entirely from the store.
Obviously as you can imagine, this caused a massive influx of users buying the game that until now had probably sat pretty quietly amongst all the other PSP titles. The impact was so huge in fact, that recently recovered screenshots show that the title actually hit number one on the download chart for the entire month of December for PSP. Considering the exploit itself wasn't formally announced till the tail end of the month, it's crazy to see how many downloads it actually got in that short amount of time. I guess us scene members do actually have a pretty strong hold on the Sony universe these days!

Though I actually sold my Vita yesterday on eBay as I didnt play it very often due to lack of games, maybe in the future I will buy one when we have things like Grand Theft Auto Vita version, or a Fight Night game made using the Vita's hardware...they could possibly get me to buy another Vita again.
My Vita was an Australian release day console, first console I have ever bought when it first came out...all my other consoles I got when they had been out nearly 2 years! But I got more money these days, which is why I got the Vita on launch!
The new owner of my Vita wanted it BECAUSE it had a working Uno exploit :), least my beloved console went to a fellow hacker/modder :)
