iOS 6 Is Jailbroken With Evasi0n

Being a member of the iOS scene over the past few months hasn't exactly been one of the best times in our lives. While past firmware releases had been hacked sometimes the same day they were found on Apple servers, iOS 6 was a slightly different story. With those days and weeks stretching on, some had even speculated that the scene was dead due to the fact that many of the most popular tweaks had already been added into the Cupertino kid's own product. Others more rightly stated that maybe the jailbreak team was just busy on other projects, but would eventually give us something. The good news is the Evad3rs team comprised of several scene favorites have proven those hopefuls right.

As a long running iOS scene member myself, I'm super happy to see that this jailbreak is finally out and about. Still having been away for things for quite some time I can't help but feel like things have changed quite a bit. As I've already said, in general I felt like this time around, there was a lot less I needed to install because Apple has in many ways picked up the pieces by now. I still had a lot of fun with tweaks though like Auxo, a beautiful app switcher that should be purchased by anybody that ventures to jailbreak their device. Speaking of purchases, I also took notice of just how many paid tweaks that are out there now. In a lot of cases, you'll be paying for a lot of the most popular ones if you want to get them officially. In some ways I do take issue with this, but at the same time I suppose some of these hack developers do deserve our money if folks are wiling to pony it up. Sure paying $3 just to get a barrel roll 3D effect on your home screen is a bit much, but the scene is still an interesting place.
