This great news brought to you by Shuhei Yoshida from Sony Worldwide Studios in his interview with Eurogamer. Many PlayStation fans I know almost gave up hope and wanted to go for the new Xbox. But Microsoft also has plans to stop the second hands games by blocking them on the new Xbox!
Shuhei Yoshida has brought us some more great news. You don't need to be connected to the internet 24/7 to play PS4 games. The PS4 games will still support offline gaming. It is less cool as online gaming, but for people who may not have a great internet connection this is a great alternative.
PS4 seems more promessing by the minute. Will it be better then the Xbox? Whe can't really judge that until April. But it will get harder for Microsoft if Sony keeps coming out with this great news like this. If you wish to read the whole interview of Shuhei Yoshida, click on the link below...

It may have an 'offline mode' like steam.
I think the PS4 store will be a lot like the way steam works on PC. You have games in your account which you have access to. You can unlock games offline with a key (maybe automatically stored on the disk), but when you go online, that key will likely be verified.
As far as second hand games go... it may be possible, but the key will need to be De-authorised first.
That's how I think it would be done.

Eurogamer: One of the questions my readers really want an answer to is whether you're going to block the use of second-hand or 'used' games, because it's a huge concern for them.
Shuhei Yoshida: Do you want us to do that?
Eurogamer: No. I think if you buy something on a disc you have a kind of moral contract with the person you've bought it from that you retain some of that value and you can pass it on. Do you agree?
Shuhei Yoshida: Yes. That's the general expectation by consumers. They purchase physical form, they want to use it everywhere, right? So that's my expectation.
