PS3 Media Server 1.51.0 Released

Submitted by Demonchild; March 19, 2012

When it comes to streaming media from your PC, PS3 Media Server is the way to go. Not only does it support PS3s, it expands to the Xbox 360 as well as other devices. Just as the name suggests, PS3 Media Server allows you to stream pictures, music and videos between PCs and your consoles. Useful if you don't have enough space on your console, or don't want to commit to buying a new hard drive for PS3 usage exclusively. The last update to the program came back in January.  Let's see what has changed since then.

Changelog:

  • Fix StartStopListener callbacks for HTTP Engine V1
  • Surface playback start/stop events
  • Make video quality presets localizable
  • Fixed OSX log message about font definitions
  • Fixed double wrapping of streams causing stuttering
  • Added MPEG4 ASP with Qpel support for PS3
  • Allow 15fps video
  • MediaInfo link added to the About tab
  • Updated to latest versions of libraries (codec, jdom, logback and slf4j)
  • Various stability and speed improvements
  • Updated JRE autodownload to 7u3 from 7u2
  • Updated MPlayer and MEncoder to SB28
  • Updated ImageMagick Convert to 6.7.6
  • Updated MediaInfo to 0.7.54
  • More reliable selection of correct audio channels
  • Improved fast-forward and rewind support

A meaty update is it alright. If you haven't grabbed it already, get it below.
