The people developing the games for sony like naughty dog and such have been quoted to say that there isnt much more that they can do and that the ps3 has reach its limits

I agree with them, but it's going to be the late PS3 scene all over again, unless the Xbox720 also does the reasonable thing and delays one year, which i don't think they will :/

It is common for a game company to say they have pushed the limits of a system. Would you buy a game from them if they were honest and said they cut corners and lowered standards to make a quick buck?

I love my PS3 and I have no problem at all with waiting another year for the PS4.

i think nitendo are stuck up cunts, all they do is release a fad controller, re release shovelware cr@p games, and have the cheek to slate MS/SONY claiming this time they wont make a graphical leap when erm what have nintendo done.
The wii failed this "GRAPHICAL LEAP" it was just a revamped last gen system, and again the wii u "is a revamped current gen (soon to be last gen) console" so nintendo want to brag on its "GRAPHICAL LEAP" and insult the only two consoles that have allways made a graphical leap console after console.

I''ve always been a Sony fan! I'm glad Sony hasn't made that leap yet and that they are being patient.... it annoys me the way they do early release of things... especially Microsoft, they fail at software.
Naughty Dog must be at their limit with Sony... The Graphical Images they use are the best i've ever seen for video games

First of all, if you are not going to be nice, don't submit comments. Second, Microsoft has only ever made 2 consoles so saying they ALWAYS made a graphical leap console after console is incorrect. So far every console maker has made grpahical leaps with THEIR respective consoles but all current gen consoles really do lack in terms of GPU power. CPU power is not an issue at all. Many companies have complained to Microsoft and Sony that they need to step of the graphical power of their next consoles. Nintendo's next console is a graphical leap for them as they will finally be getting into the HD era. Also Nintendo has some of the best and unique games I've ever played. Yes they do have some crap games, but so does every console. Nintendo did make a graphical leap when you compare it to the GameCube. The issue with the Wii is that it can't output the Wii game in their true format. Wii games have been made in 720p but the Wii can't output that. Only time will tell with what the big 3 will have in store for us.

All of sony's system have had a 10 year life cycle so far. Anybody remember the first year of ps2? Most of the the same years ps1 games were comparable and some even better! All the while developers had been saying for years that "this is the farthest the ps1 has been pushed" or that "we pushed the system to its max" or something to that effect, but lo and behold a graphically and technologically more superior game came out. It's all about the dev kits. If sony keeps releasing more updates and better tools to these developers, they will be able to do more.

aggreed, how much better can graphics get? REAL PEOPLE ?i have been playing since PONG in the late '70s intellevision was the BEST with the first game to TALK, then 8bit NINETNDO with there MODEM to play ONLINE, SEGA MASTERSYSTEM with REAL 3D graphics like ZAXXON 25 years ago! then with their CD system, SONY barges into the market with the FIRST 1 bit processer 16 million polygons at once, and the future was ALREADY in mind with the 10 inch opening in the ps1 was for the "NEW" VCD format of movies (that never made it) PS2 got it ALL wrong with all the periferals you had to by like HDD ETHERNET 4PORTadapter ect, MICROSOFT with there ALL IN ONE machine, then for some reason SONY learned from microsoft and built an AMAZING machine PS3 while microsoft went with the CHEAPEST parts for their next gen a WASTE OF MY MONEY, then PAY TO PLAY? i dont think the consoles need to change i just think developers should COMPLETE games before the release not give me an update the day it is released, in the days with CARTRIGES the game had to be right before release. how would YOU feel if i sold you $60 worth of something just to have to FIX it the day you get it?
