If you are looking at picking up one of the games from the "Guitar Hero" series along with a guitar, or your guitar is getting a bit clicked out from all the solos and attempting to finish "Through The Fire And Flames", then you best attempt to pick one up as soon as possible.
It is known amongst most well educated gamers that the "Guitar Hero" franchise has come to a close, with no more games being developed for the extensive and popular series. If you do want to get into the game though, time is running out. From what local retailers in Sydney Australia are saying, Activision are no longer pushing out guitars for the game any more. This being said, decisions must be made quickly to secure one of the soon-to-be hard to get guitars.
If the new Rocksmith doesn't look like something you want, you best make your way down to a game store soon and secure what could be one of the last console guitars your local gaming retailer sells.

Yeah I have noticed that it's getting harder, and more expensive to pick these guitars up.
It's really a shame that the game companies pushed so many generic versions of guitar hero
till it killed the franchise. I really wish they would have just waited a little longer in between
releases.
Oh Well.

guitar hero isn't ending because others' games. it's ending because sales have gone down and they realize they don't produce enough new content other than track packs/songs.
i'm sure it will be back in the future, though there's the possibility it'll end up a lost cause like guitar freaks.
but i'm sure somewhere along the way -as technology progresses- there'll be reason enough to reincarnate the series.
