Cliff Bleszinski Wants to “Fix” Resident Evil

It’s no shocking secret that Resident Evil 6 hasn't exactly been the single most popular effort when it comes to this long storied franchise. With streaky reviews across the board professionally, for many it looked like one of the industry’s most iconic names could be headed towards a downturn. Still, Cliff Bleszinski hopes to offer a helping hand to Capcom according to a recent tweet. Brazenly, the seasoned coder writes “Hey Capcom, we can fix Resident Evil together.”

Having left Epic Games after a twenty year stint, Cliff is certainly no stranger to making some awesome titles. Just by mentioning Gears of War alone gamers ears should be perked up about what this confident man has to say. Since his departure from his previous career, he has had meetings anywhere from Zynga to Activision, but now he seems to be putting the call out to the RE team for an interview. Having played a lot of Epic Games these days, do you guys think he could be a force to the RE name? More importantly I suppose, do you think Resident Evil needs to be fixed at all?

Resident Evil really needs to go back to its roots and recreate that feeling from the first few titles there are still spots that sends chills through my spine even tho I know they are coming. You just do not get that with the newer games they are just generic zombie shooters now compared to the epicness that started the franchise in the first place. I remember walking around looking for herbs to heal with becuase I got a little careless back in the day.

I know exactly what you mean... i havent tried playing anything past RE4 cos that game put me off the series. RE1 and 2 was where it was at

yeah we are all resident evil classic fans.
we need an adventure with too many puzzles .horrible monsters and deadly silence and in the other words (A CLASSIC RESIDENT EVIL) not a common zombie shooter or 3d shooting game . we hope resident evil finds it's origin and a huge mansion and drawers . not a gun dealer

this Cliff Bleszinski will end up making the series even worse. Gears of Wars? It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with what a Resident Evil game should be... RE series must back to it's roots... the SUPER COPS with commando abilities that are featured in the series today are nothing more than boring and exagerated... the RE games from the past had normal cops, in extreme situations really having to deal with surviving the environment and the enemies.

If they decide to re-create RE6 they need to take the characters back to the mansion, and put plenty of puzzles in the "new" game. Add some cool new twists and turns. Resident Evil 4 was good, but I'd like the series to go back to its roots even more than that. Looking forward to see how RE6 can be improved.

things like resident evil 0 were great where it had a little extra fight but still maintained survival horror and holy shit i knew that hunter was going to jump out but still jump out of you skin

Resident Evil need to be like the first one! everybody wants that. so do it!! and do it right.. We want to be scared and to be challenged with cool enigma etc... I recently play an old game on PS3: Condemned 2: Bloodshot. Wow I was suprise. kind of terrifying.. The only resident evil game that i played like 2 hours was the 6! Resident evil has to be scarry and with some awsome graphic like the first one on PS1.. that it! that all! lol ;) Now everybody will be happy and you will make a lot of money so I dont see the problem..
