By now I'm sure you have all heard how difficult this game is. I'll spare you guys from all the half assed analogies regarding the games difficulty. It's challenging. We got it. It's not as if the game is beyond anyone though. It just requires a solid amount of patience and strategy in order to come up with the best way possible to get from point A to point B. Everything else is just filler. Exceptionally well designed and thought out filler I might add.
If you have the patience and tolerance threshold for the pain and embarrassment of defeat, Dark Souls will provide one of the best action RPG play throughs any fan of the genre will experience. It turns out to be one of the most pure and traditional role playing games ever conceived. Regardless of what class you begin the game starting off as, you can eventually purchase weapons and armour that allow you to play whatever style you feel most comfortable with. The game never holds your hand so it's entirely up to you to decide how you will approach every situation. The Rambo styled "guns blazing" style of gaming is rarely a tactful approach to any situation you're presented with in this game. It's more about drawing enemies out in order to face them one at a time and corralling them into a narrow path way and slaughtering them like cattle. I also found that switching up your armour (or lack thereof) allows you to apply a different tactic to any particular enemy engagement. Take that lumbering armour off and see how nimble you are in comparison. The game really shines in it's ability to transform your character on the fly depending on any given circumstance.
This is how I learned to adapt and survive while playing this game. Your experience may differ, actually, I'm sure it will. I'm 10 plus hours in and I'm finally starting to cover a decent amount of ground (or so it seems). I can slice through enemies that took a lot of skill and patience to overcome at the beginning with relative ease. That's my message to you all out there. Have patience, learn the rules of engagement and never let your guard down. If you play smart, you'll be able to enjoy the satisfying rewards of beating enemies in a professional, systematic manner. You truly feel like a pro gammer after putting in the time. There are no quick fixes in this game. Everything you achieve and everything you find is earned with a ton of blood, sweat and tears.
Aside from that, there are massive, beautifully crafted and designed environments and great assortment of bad guys to plow through on your journey to become whole again. It's an incredible gaming experience that should not be passed up, especially for fans of fantasy Role Playing Games that don't want to be coddled on their journey. It's a dark, brutal terrain you have to traverse and the game depicts it perfectly.
I highly recommend Dark Souls. That is of course unless you're a little bitch….just kidding. Enjoy!

I actually bought a new ps3 160GB for this game :)
And i didnt mind paying 59€ for the game itself, since DS is one of those few games that are actually worth your money. (too bad devs only get "small crumbs" from each copy sold)
