multiMAN goes Bare in 04.17.04

Before we get to the bare bones stuff, let's first talk about some of the major improvements found in this newly released version. As is the usual fare, the visuals and scanning processes have once again improved for all of you. In addition there are also options for memory sticks like SD MS and CF in the retro category in case you'll be getting any of those older games from any one of those storage mediums.   Lastly, the game backgrounds now fade in which looks a bit more gradual and natural compared to the usual pop.

There is of course also the new build to discuss called Bare. Just as the name implies, this is essentially a version of multiMAN that is stripped of as many bells and whistles as possible without losing much functionality. According to the developer, many with smaller hard drives were upset that multiMAN took up so much space, so this could be used to remedy that. What will you lose because of it? The theme music and extra languages have been stripped to just use English. That means if you can read and understand this story then it may apply to you. There are also no added fonts, and game titles do not display. Finally the bare version is tied down to just the old school BD-Mirror method of booting so if you intend to keep using AIOMod this isn't the choice for you.

The firmware should work as long as you've moved on from Cobra or TB on 3.55. Either build you choose, happy updating!
