Medal of Honor: Warfighter was announced last week, and now we're getting a better idea about what this game will have in store. Hopefully it's better than the last one.
Developer Danger Close has revealed that the game will use DICE's Frostbite 2.0 engine and that the single player and multiplayer modes will both be developed in-house and use the same engine, instead of that weird mess we got with the last MoH game. Warfighter will see the return of the Tier 1 operators, such as the German KSK, British SAS, Polish Grom, and Australian SASR.
Single player will bring back characters Voodoo, Mother, and Preacher and will be drawn from stories of real-life Tier 1 operators. There will also be dynamic locations to fight in, such as a flooded city. Health will still regenerate, as the developers want to focus on "authenticity" instead of "simulation." There will also be more than just run and gun missions, and a co-op mode is said to be in the works.
In multiplayer, Danger Close says that they are contemplating a one-shot, one-kill hardcore mode, which is always fun and levels the playing field in a lot of FPSs.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter is set to release this October.
