L.A. Noire Devs Working on New Game

Submitted by OS_Gamer; November 28, 2011

After the big brouhaha over the working conditions at Team Bondi (the creators of L.A. Noire) came out earlier this year, many were skeptical about the future of the team members involved. Most of the controversy revolved around team lead Brendan McNamara, but now it looks like he's kept at least some of the team together to make a new game entitled, get this, Whore of the Orient.

What a catchy title. Regardless, Australian Financial Review Magazine announced that McNamara and a few members of Team Bondi have gone over to KMM, a production company in Australia responsible for the Happy Feet film, its game incarnations, and the Mad Max: Fury Road film and game. They have a lot on their plate, but you couldn't ask for better development company.

Speaking to Eurogamer, McNamara stated that Whore of the Orient is centered on "one of the greatest untold stories of the twentieth century." Sounds pretty cryptic and ominous, but it's highly doubtful that the title will stick given that it will be sitting on store shelves the world over for every child to see. People will have a problem with that.

What do you think? Will McNamara be able to recreate his prior success with this new game? Are his team members truly loyal or just desperate for a job?

Quality dev's can land a job elsewhere if they wanted, and these are quality dev's.

They chose to stick around because they think the problems can be worked out and are committed to delivering another quality product.
