Last time someone wasn't stocking anything, it was for the Vitas between Target, Big W and K-Mart over in Aussie land. This time around, retailer GAME won't be selling Mass Effect 3. To make matters worse, they won't be looking forward to anything pushed out by EA.
Tom Devine says:
"We committed to only stocking products on which we could get the right credit terms, regardless of the title or the supplier. We will not stock products if the terms are not right for our business - a position we believe is critical to our long term health as a business - we have taken the very difficult decision to not stock EA's March releases, including Mass Effect 3."
According to the memo released, GAME will refund preorders with store credit and receive £5 in reward points if redeemed by March 16th. The last EA game that will be sold by GAME will be SSX.
Is it time to find yourself a new retailer?

What dick-niggers. It's not like other retailers pick and choose what games to carry, they just carry them all. Fuck GAME. Boycott them all you can and help make them suffer as a company!!!

I would hope that more retailers made decisision like that and put EA out of business. Those greedy bastards deserve to go bust.

Had i known they were going to do this, i would not have bought my Vita from them, my 16gb memory card nor preordered Disaea 3 from them!
Wtf is with all these Aussie stores not stocking things? its total bullshit! Maybe from now on ill just buy directly from the Sony online store...the GAME stores wish to play god? SCREW THEM! I choose which games i do and do-not want, NOT THEM!!!!

This is a crock of sh1t, game cant issue a credit note if they have taken your cash for a product they have failed to provide.
if you was to cancel the pre order then yes game could then offer refund as a credit note, but its game that have failed and in fact have broken the law for advertising a product they cant supply.
wont be long untill game goes down, if theyre in talks to force devs to drop their prices, the second they fail to offer games, people will shop elsewhere.
game really needs to improve its marketing strategy.

I would be happy if this was for Australia.. Retailers over here are total ripoff's more people learn to buy game online or overseas for less then half the price we buy it at the retailers the better.. maybe they would start to rethink their pricing policys
the only reason the Australian GAME is stocking it is because they know they are Ripping aussies off and are making a killing.

There is no way in HELL GAME would get away with offering store credit when the game you want isnt going to be available. What if you have paid the entire amount for the game, and you cant get anymore money....how is shitty store credit going to get you the game you want? IT CANT!
While this doesn't effect me since i haven't preordered said game, but if i DID, i wouldn't leave the store until i had a full CASH refund...so that i could walk into another shop and buy it!

For anyone that doesn't know how businesses work, this is because GAME is not doing so well right now. EA don't want to give GAME the 30 days credit due to the risk of GAME not being able to pay them back.

I think it's kinda douche-y how they offer the credit too. As if they are doing the customers they fucked over a favor; GAME- 'Hey, at least you guys are getting credit back.' Fuck you- it's not up to you how I get my refund. You don't break the contract and then decide how to compensate the other party yourself.
Plus I disagree with the limit on getting your money back- I understand expiration dates are needed, but in this kind of situation I'd not be making it something that soon, or that strict; I'd be doing all I could to make the people happy and not lose every customer. Think about it: if you payed to pre-order, went on vacation or something, and get back as the game comes out. But it turns out not only do you not get the game, but your money is 'gone' as well. I'd never use that business again. And even if the amount wasn't 'gone' your only option now is credit- at a store that doesn't carry the game you wanted, and is slowly dropping more and more titles.
And everyone will already be questioning the service of a place that can't even maintain proper business relationships with some of the largest companies in the industry. The credit problems may not be in their control, but they could likely spend a bit more and offer the games, it just has a higher risk of putting them in the red, but if that's what you need to do to fulfill your business to your customers (especially large amounts lie this) then you should fucking do it, even if it isn't profitable, or as profitable as you'd like it.
Sorry for the wall of text- I've been up far too long and I'm full of too much of my meds to re-check/clarify my post.
