Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC Out Tomorrow

Submitted by UnashamedVandal; February 07, 2012

Square Enix have officially announced the release of their first instalment of downloadable content for their new RPG title, Final Fantasy XIII-2. The game was released less than a week ago now and many fans of the previous instalment are enjoying the title so far, while other vintage fans are literally destroying the games reputation with their comments. This content will hit the PlayStation Store and Xboxs Live Marketplace tomorrow. The DLC will contain a Colosseum battle feature where players can be put in battle with two famous characters. The first of these characters is Lieutenant Amodar of the Guardian Corps who was in Cocoonss special military division, the second is the one and only Lightning. If you manage to take down the duo, according to reports you will be able to use them in your party. This seems like something I would invest in, especially as a huge Final Fantasy fan. Even though I would suggest that the XIII series isnt Square Enix best work, it is very harshly criticised. Let me know your thoughts.

"Final Fantasy" XIII and XIII-2 wouldn't be hated on NEARLY as much if square enix would have been smart enough to start a new series instead of releasing these piles of crap as "Final Fantasy" games.

Battles that require strategy and thought, awesome music, a mindblowing, involving story line and characters that add depth to the game are all things that nearly EVERY Final Fantasy game had up until FF X-2; XIII and XIII-2 have failed to live up to the Final Fantasy criteria that fans of the series have known Final Fantasy to be. These new games just don't have the same elements a typical final fantasy game should have.

To the fans of XIII and XIII-2: I don't necesarrily hate these games, they are just a disapointment to me because I was expecting another great Final Fantasy game that I know and love. They are great games in their own respect, just not the kind of games I enjoy playing.

So, Square Enix, if you are going to continue making these kinds of games that's 100% ok with me, just don't give them a name that they can't live up to.

This is what they meant when they said ruining reputation with coment. Final fantasy is as it is now. If you don't like it buy other consoles and play old games on them. You ain't gettin a shirt.

Oh im sorry, I didnt know my comment stood for the poster boy of everyones oppinon. Its very much fact the game does not match up to how the game stood up in the past. As far as buying a whole console just for playing them? I rather use the awesomeness of emulation on my PS3 that many of the hard working coders brought to us.

You very much fail at trying to come on and troll, if you find the game to that of one that leaves you inside your room masterbating for hours, so be it, the game will still SUCK to me.

XIII i thought had a great story line and does require strategy the music was good not great but not dissapointing and the cg scenes were infact  Mind blown umm seems everyone bases the oppinion on ff7 or before which were all great games however look up why squenix cant really justify making games with the major content level "You" expect instead try to give you a challenge in a game and if you even compare them to 8-10 ect well those games werent a challenge at all when you can beat the game at lvl1 and have personally beaten them at lvl 20 so that would be dumb as far as i see i dont like certian aspects of Xiii-2 that remind me of X-2 which did kinda suck but i still beat it 2x XIII-2 added alot of things i loved to have seen in the first i like it wont trade it and will be getting all the download content

FFXIII and strategy?! SRSLY? Are you joking me? It was required only in the endgame when you finished main story. Before that it wasn't necessary at all. I just had to switch between 2-3 paradigms and press X. Strategy!

if you want real strategy try final fantasy X.

for example:
the Yunalesca fight in FFX. The boss turns your characters into zombies, but as you know being a zombie is bad. so you heal your zombie status. Then you get to her third form and she uses megadeath. Everyone dies. So what you need to do is somehow find a way to heal, and stay a zombie so your don't instantly lose because of megadeath. And that's only one hard boss. There's also Evrae and Seymoure to name a few more.

THAT'S strategy. pressing x repeatedly and changing paridigmes however, is not. But if all you want is an easy button masher then FF XIII and XIII-2 are for you.

I really don't see why people are hatin' on FFXIII and XIII-2 (which btw combining roman numerals and regular numbers is just stupid...) I liked XIII a lot! Way better than 12! I even liked it better than ten (though I never really liked ten much anyways) I thought they did a pretty good job after the shit they pulled with 12, we got turned based battles back, had great graphics, the score was great, just different style since Nobuo left. I can almost say it's actually my favorite after Final Fantasy IX (best game ever!!! imho) and maybe IV. The only thing upsetting to me was you could only control one player at a time, but I mean with the paradigms there was no need to control all 3. XIII-2 took one step forward 2 steps back allowing you to controll both party members, but with that now you collect mosters as party members as well, and that becomes your party... I thought they did the best they could given all the circumstances.
