Final Fantasy: Square Enix Decide Priorities

Final Fantasy XIII did okay...XIII-2? Not so great...XIII-3? Well, you can see where this is going.
It has become apparent from recent interviews with Square Enix, that they have sorted their priorities when discussing upcoming Final Fantasy titles. Final Fantasy X was a huge hit for Square Enix, it won awards for its in-depth story and well thought out characters but would you prioritise its HD release below XIII-3? I wouldnt.
With Final Fantasy XIII-2 still fresh in our minds and still under fire from heavy criticism, I would release a beloved classic to take fans minds off the disappointment of XIII-2, before making any decisions about another sequel to the series.
However the point is that Square Enix have openly stated that plans for another entry to the XIII series is on the cards, whereas the Final Fantasy X HD remake intended for the PlayStation Store may have to wait.

Considering how horrid FFX was, and FF XIII (not to be confused with the excellent, cel-shaded FPS XIII ), I'm surprised that they're even doing this. Seriously, what on earth would possess them to want to sequelize what has been argued to be probably one of the worst entries in the franchise?
I'd like to know just what kind of stuff the decision makers at Square are on to think this could POSSIBLY be a good idea.

Only one thing to say about all of this.... BEST GAME EVER. Well actually I have lot's of things to say about it, but I will leave it at that. Beaten start to finish more times than I can count, and will continue to do so atleast once a year until I die or until there isn't enough electricity left on the planet to start a PSP.

They stated numerous times the importance of the Fabula Nova series, and how they really wanted to explore XIII as far as they could before moving on. I would love this FFX remaster to come out ASAP, but it was fairly obvious the FFXIII series was going to by the main priority. And for the record, FFXIII-2 was much better then the prior FFXIII.

13 was crap, and that includes 13-2. Not trying to sound like your standard butthurt final fantasy fanboy or nothing, but i think they should move on. Final Fantasy sequels don't seem to work that well, just look at 10-2, which ruined just about all of the original characters. Personally for me the order(post 6) goes 10>12>7>Tactics>9>13>8. People like to be nostalgiafags about the older ones, but the fact is some of the newer ones really did level up in terms of story telling. 13 feels like it tried to continue the trend, but in the end devolved into some sort of chaotic mess. so yeah, couldn't really care less about 13-3, but am looking forward to 10 hd.

I think they should remake FF XIII Versus. Final Fantasy XXIII Versus 2 just roles off the tongue. Or maybe a new game, but skip FF XV and go straight to FF XVI then make FF XV afterwards as an IOS-only game.

Final Fantasy X is one of the most enjoyable in the series, but definitely not because of its story, and God forbids, neither for its characters.
Seeing that S-E is following a more or less predictable pattern with their re-releases, the next FF in line would be 5, for 3ds probably.
About FF13-III, it's not surprising, S-E is trying to create a lineup of characters that can be easily marketed. One of the problems of the FF franchise (from a salesman perspective) is that you need to redesign and re-introduce the cast to the public in every new iteration. Every company would love to have a milkable Mario / Link / Master Chief / Kratos, or as many as they could get their hands on.

My favs in order are 4, 12, 6, 8 ,7, 3, 1
13 was good, 13-2 was alright. It was different. None of the more recent games seem to capture the magic of the older titles. Hell, I played saga 2 on an emu last night and the music hit me hard. They just dont make games that hold on to the player any more, and I miss that about gaming. Until they relearn how to do that, gaming is sort of empty for me.
BTW, Chrono Trigger = Best old school rpg ever.

FF7 Remake is NEVER EVER going to happen i soooo wish it would but they have stated they will NEVER be making a HD FF7 release NEVEREVER google the shit itll take them like 14 yrs or something rediculous and 100's of millions of dollars for 1 single solitary game they wont justify it for a reason it wont profit them

13 is one of my favorites in the series, next is IX, then VI, then IV. I didn't really like 13-2 that much though, but I'm only about 8 hours into it. I don't think I'd be into a 13-3 though. I wasn't a huge fan of X either. I'd rather see remakes of FF IX and below.

In a word... Money. They already have the engine created, storyline written, characters developed. They want to milk it as much as possible. Square, since they went from Squaresoft to Square Enix, has become a company owned and operated by suits, and not story tellers. They want to push the garbage down our throats and tell us it's amazing! The batter system is better than the last 3 FF games to come out, but still not all that great. Square is killing the original fanbase that helped establish them as a gaming Juggernaut. They are destroying their franchise. Horrible stories, horrible character development, horrible music, horrible battle systems. Everything that made them great they destroyed all for greed and lack of vision.

I asked the same thing when they said they would release FFXIII-2... FFXIII was a HUGE disappointment... Why the hell release another crappy game, based on a crappy game?! X wasn't all that good. It was the begining of the end of the Final Fantasy series. It was ok, but it wasn't that good. Characters were too whiny, no world map, music was stupid and uninspired, and story was a bit idiotic... A large killer demon whale named Sin... Wooooooo scary! They should release an HD version of any FF games from 1-8. And don't you dare change the battle system to get the A.D.D. generation to pay attention...
