ESRB Changes the Box Art for Risen 2, Plus Check Out a Trailer

Submitted by OS_Gamer; March 28, 2012

The ESRB has ordered that Risen 2's cover be changed so that people's delicate sensibilities aren't offended. Oh, censorship, you so silly.

The ESRB has determined that the red smudge behind the skull and bones on Risen 2: Dark Water's cover could be interpreted as blood (which, let's face it, it is) so it has to be changed if the game is to be distributed in North America. So the smudge has been changed to blue. It will still be red elsewhere, however.

I thought we'd moved beyond this, alas.

There hasn't been much discussion around here about Risen 2: Dark Waters, so I'll go ahead and post the latest trailer that came out a few days ago as well. Pirates, voodoo, and kraken ahoy!

The game will be out May 22nd in North America, May 25th in Europe.

I can't beleive they are censoring things for America now! I thought the censorship was onliy for Europe. Censorship is rediculous. Why censor blood if many games have it anyway -_-
They have to ban censorship, or censor censorship!

the ESRB just want to be assholes.  Last I checked, wasn't the splatterhouse box art red which blatantly points out the game's goriness?  smh..... so backwards.
