In the past, it has been the popular rumor that both the PS4 and Xbox 720 would have their own unveilings prior to E3 at dedicated press events. This all seemed even more realistic with the dispersal of notices about a Destination Playstation event set to happen in the middle of next month. However, while my early reports thought that this May idea also seemed to work towards that prior to E3 end, CNETs own feature "Rumor Has It" seems to think the company will be doing things the old-fashioned way by lifting the curtain at E3.
However, that's not the only popular speculation that the tech watchers go against. While many feel that 2013 will be the year for brand new consoles from Sony and Microsoft, they are saying that at least in the Sony camp we won't see anything new on the market until 2014. As evidence, they claim that because the PS3 was released the following year after its announcement at the dreaded E3 2005 keynote. It should be noted however that in that year E3 was one month earlier than the 2013 conference in June. If we go by that same standard however, 2014 still seems like the year releases could go down.
When do you all think we'll see a PS4?

It would be tough for MS to wait until 2014 (9 years between console releases?!) and Sony seems hell-bent on beating MS to market, so 2013 seems more likely. Besides, if they are using "off the shelf" components, what would cause the delay to 2014? Software? Security?
