Another Blow Against True Blue

Who will save True Blue developers? To whom will they complain, Sony?

Don't be such an ass. The problem with the True Blue dongle is not the price. The issue is with the availability. Here in Europe it is difficult to get one. Most countries here have laws that prohibit shops to sell such dongles. You can however import them from the USA, which also makes it quite expensive.

Besides, there are developments in BD-Rom emulation that does not require any dongles or hardware modifications. That is why I was not ready to pay for such an dongle. With import costs and taxes it would cost me around $ 130; which is too expensive for my taste.

I do not game that much so it isn't a good investment. Money is not really the issue (I have to PS3's, one original for PSN and one modified with 3.55 CFW) but I do care for good value for money. And sorry, to me the True Blue Dongle just isn't.

I think you are a very ungratefull dumb-ass. Be happy that there are people that create a solution like the True Blue dongle. Those people work many hours a day (next to their regular job-) to find holes in the PS3 security and come up with ways to exploit these security-holes. The equipment that is necessary to complete such a difficult task is expensive. It also requires lots of knowledge and a keen set of brains.

You are not just paying for the dongle. You are also paying for all the time these people invest in hacking the PS3, their knowledge, the needed equipment and the PS3 consoles that died in the hacking-process.

I do not agree with you that all games should be free. If you watch the credits of a game, you see hundreds (even thousands) of names of people who worked on that game. All of them need to be payed to support their livelyhood and that of their family. Not paying for games would eventually cause a lot of them to lose their job, causing them to apply for social security. This effectively will destroy smaller game-studios (that often have the best games-) which only leaves us with games from Electronic Arts "copy-paste"-department.... Is that what you want ?

However, I think games should be cheaper. Prices of about US$ 30 / € 25 for top franchise titles should be enough. Current prices are just too expensive. Especially when you keep in mind that single-player campaigns are getting shorter all the time, multi-player gameplay is beeing stripped down more and more so that gamestudios can earn extra money with selling you DLC (Downloadable Content) that should have been in the game in the first place.

So next time, if you want a decent conversation instead of yelling around, please grow a brain first. I can't understand why someone like you is so egoistic and naiv. Buying a PS3 does not grant you the right to get everything else for free.
