People love it and people buy it, yet the game is abused by so many and is frequently called SHIT by those who dont play it regularly.Call of Duty is one of the biggest gaming franchises in the world but do you love it or hate it?
I used to like it, never loved it. Now however, I find it tedious, boring and somewhat annoying. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was the beginning of the end for me, the series remains consistently popular but with every new game, I get more and more fed up. Im going to give my honest opinion and COD lovers will hate it, while COD haters will love it…
The game is recycled crap, come on. Ive played my fair share of FPS games. Ive compared every Call of Duty to its predecessor, Ive compared it to other FPS games, hell Ive even tried to play it on a level and not think about other games and I just cant wrap my head around why its so addicting…can someone please tell me why?
Get this; new statistics about the game have just come out showing that users have racked up 1.6 billion hours of gameplay during March. 1.6 Billion! Seriously?! Why? Its fun for a fair amount of hours and maybe the campaign is worth one play through but the game on a whole lacks major imagination. Remember Modern Warfare 2? Some players went out and paid big bucks for MW3 just for the new maps, some of these players havent even played through the campaign. Im not paying full price for a game that could essentially be DLC.
Sorry COD lovers, thats just how I feel.

agreed. the story is good, always has been, the multiplayer spec ops (or zombies) are fun, unless you are playing with point hogs, but multi was always the big winner to some. it seems that multi has degraded from a fun experience with friends and strangers to "i want more than 30 kills and no deaths per match" mentality. its not just the camping aspect thats the problem. the guns may change, the maps may change. but thats where the fun stops. in the end, its just, and i quote "recycled crap". nothing changes. even the new game mode that they introduce every once in a while doesn't make it any different. in the end, they should've stuck with what the call of duty series should've been all along. single player, multiplayer couch co-op. 4 people max, running through the story.
it seems that all FPS games are starting to bleed together. only difference: COD has been around longest, so COD is top of the pile. the others don't get a fair shake, because its not call of duty, or battlefield.

I'd have to agree 100% with you there, when i first played COD 4 it felt fresh quick and fun to play, world at war was just not my thing at all, then modern warfare 2 came and i thought it was ok i liked a couple of maps but got bored very quickly with it, i could not put my finger on it but i felt something was missing, then black ops arrived and i felt a bit ripped off it had no 'imagination' i was far from interested in zombies, i have plenty of good games that are for my zombie killing pleasure. now mw3 i have not even touched the game im far from interested in it and the same goes for black ops 2. im offically saving money and buying a game worth paying for. something new and have not already played. but each to thier own people like the game and i guess the main reason is familiarity.

I agree... now MW3 was the final straw. Now I will buy only treyarch zombie games BUT NOT untill the price reflects how much it's really worth to me... £20-25£ Max

Counterstrike is still bigger than and more played than CoD and it has no single player campain and the same maps for the most part from 1.6 all the way to global offensive coming out soon. It comes down to consistant gameplay I think.

i have to disagree. they added a gun leveling system and COD Elite. and instead of the dozens of overpowered things in mw2, theres only 2 or 3 in mw3 (type 95, fmg9 akimbo, maybe the striker). im 15th prestige and have nearly every gun gold, and it never gets boring.
