The same guys who continue to bring you the REBUG firmware for your PS3 has released a nifty homebrew called "Toggle QA". A few months ago when QA Flagging was first discovered, it took quite a bit of work to actually enable the flag. Now, the Toggle QA homebrew will allow you to set and reset the QA flag and token on your PS3.
To make use of Toogle QA, you will need a console running custom firmware on 3.41 (via dongle) or 3.55 (CFW / dongle). If you make that prerequisite, you can then proceed to download the homebrew from below. After download and transferring it to your USB device, install it as any other homebrew.
The real magic begins when you launch Toggle QA from the XMB. According to the documentation, the QA Flag will be set when the PS3 beeps and returns you to the XMB. However, there will be some cases where it will hang during the patching process and thus not produce a beep. If your PS3 hasn't beeped after 30 seconds or so, reboot and try again.

QA flagging does require a button combination, but you have to enable it first. Hence the word "flag".
