Its been some time now since we last posted about mmOS but it has finally been released and I can bet you cant wait to find out whats new.
Deank has now released his latest version of multiMAN affectionately being referred to as mmOS due to its sleek new look. Ok well the truth of it is that it's not all getting a redesign, just the file manager is now made to resemble the desktop format we are all used to. So what else has been changed in this version? Well one major thing has been added, one that I think has been a long time coming by the way, DVD disk and folder support in conjunction with Showtime Mediacenter and the ability to to override SBS/TB for .avi3d files. If you know what that even is. Anyway the downloads are available below as well as the full change log. You should know though, that there are two versions of the latest version of multiMAN, the base (24MB) and the Full version (294MB) so pick your version and start downloading it may take a bit.

is there any way to put a new video file player on the ps3 without jailbreaking it? i recently upgraded mine to 4.11 just so i could finally play some new games i bought, but i miss being able to watch any video file i wanted on showtime. the software on a regular unjailbroken ps3 justs ucks as far as software is concerned, half the time it won't play a video file at all. i miss my 3.55 lol.

They would have to code a fully working emulator for that to work now that the essential emotion engine from the PS2 has been taken away from the console's hardware (this happened at a very early stage, it was pretty much a question of production costs whether or no to keep the PS2 backwardscompat ibility).

Id say yes and no. Yes if somone wants to code the thing. no because of all the work it will take.
