IcEmAn Releases AVCHD Movie Packages

Watching a bluray movie is probably the best cinematic experience that you can possibly get these days, but in the past you've either had to play these titles straight from a disc or by using your favorite homebrew loader of choice. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to play all of that content just like all of the .mpgs and .avis you have lying around straight from the XMB? Scene developer IcEmAn certainly thought so, which is why he created this expanded mod specifically for the German Rebug firmware configuration.

However that doesn't mean other users won't be able to make your own pkgs as well to use on US or Rogero systems. All you need to do is create a 4GB .mts part of your movie on an external HDD, and install multiMAN and the lastGAME app with the movie mounted. Then you are going to copy the content of the movie (located at "dev_hdd0/game/BLES80610") and create an ID folder with the standard PRAM.sfo.  Make sure to add EBOOT.bin and LASTPLAY.bin to that directory as well. Lastly, simply add a picture at 320x176 and create a pkg from what you've got.

If that all sounds confusing, you can check out the tutorial video at the source. Please note that if you are using Rogero instead, your movies may wind up in the Music category instead. It may be a lot of work, but it's certainly a cool little feature if you've got CFW.
