Ha ha... In LOL-related hacks, Kevin Butler, you know the Sony PS3 commercial guy, was tricked into retweeting the key that is used for generating USB Dongle IDs. While this key is pretty much useless now it is still good for a laugh. The tweet has since been deleted, but courtesy of tmblr.us it's forever engraved on the ol' Internet.

To be honest I aint that bothered about stressing these kind of things anymore.

The smartest thing I did was I brought another PS3 console (cheap 40GB Pre-owned) just to play my legit games and PSN etc. Now I can do both things...one console for 3.55 CFW use and the other console for OFW use therefore not having to worry. After I found out about the DNS trick not working anymore,

I thought it was the wisest decision I made and I would advise some people if you can save enough money (even pre-owned), I'd say that's the best option which I believe some of you may agree with me :)

I know its a tough choice and some of you may not agree with my solution...but I made that sacrifice to buy another console and now I have no regrets.

Sorry but have to ask,
If LG released a console what features would you like with it?
PC's have massive potential bigger than any games consol. Would you prefer consoles to be standardized? i.e When new disk technoligy is released you can just swap your old one for a new one.
Replaceable RAM and Replacible graphics cards.
Obviously the specific consol creator would have to produce the upgradable parts so Nvidia would rekease better PS3 Graphics cards ect.
I think games consoles should go down this rout does any one agree?

Not a good idea because a hacker will figure out how to dual boot with the option of custom firmware OS or OFW os or even release firmware and software to bypass the firmware check so i think you have wasted some spare change there.

You chose to hack your console because you wanted to, not because you were paid or solicited. No one owes you anything, but the least you could do is say thanks for having the opportunity to use back-up managers and emulators.

I agree with this method entirely.

People should just get used to CFW=NO PSN.

Even if you payed full price for the second console you are still getting the entire back catalogue of PS3 games for FREE on your CFW console.

I bagged a pre-owned for £70 which is now my 'official' PS3 it's the way forward guys!

People who are working on backup managers don't really know how to make custom firmwares so they are doing what they know. Besides with every update of,...let's say multiman for example, it gets more stable so when a new cfw is released you have optimum usage. That's like asking the governor to be the president for the next couple of days. He don't know what he's doing and can send your ps3 into a recession (brick).

I may be a few cards short of a full deck, but for the longest time I have been thinking that perhaps the most helpful thing we could do for the poor populace in Africa would be to kill off all the dangerous creatures. LG is a big name that already has tact with the general public. It's as recognizable as Sony or Xbox, your oldest relative probably knows what a Playstation or Xbox is.

I'm totally down with the replaceable Ram/Gfx/everything else. You could grab huge long term contracts with certain devs since the console would have half of the half-life of other consoles.

I'm on with this one!

I was at first interested in PS3 homebrew, but there is really no use for it anymore. I can play my emulators on my laptop. I don't want to pirate on mine either. I find having actual copies of my game kind of awesome, because you actually have a library of games. however, psp homebrew is worth it, because portable anything is awesome. ps3 homebrew for other os makes sense though. but that's it in my opinion.

What we need is a backup manager that will add the game to the game list amongst the other games.
So far, only MultiMan have succeeded in doing this but it only adds the last game you have played from the manager. This has to be fixed.

I don't think it really has anything to do with the memory sticks or the reader itself because when the USB is plugged in the sticks, reader and unit seems to work just as it should but when it is unplugged the issue is again apparent.
