More on the E3 Flasher tip... In another video the E3DIY team demonstrates how quick and easy it is to dual boot between firmware 3.70 and 3.55. Click, click -- boom!

Again the E3 Flasher is scheduled for release next week ... and it's said to be a solderless install for Slim models. Mind you ... you still need to disassemble your console. - source: ps3crunch

You do realize that you have to set the date and time when update your PS3. He just set to January 1st. Why would he make a video 8 months ago, then make a video now, then splice them together. That sounds stupid and "more trouble then its worth". People like you who call out stuff as fake have no knowledge of the PS3 hack scene and the minute you see something new you call "fake!!!!!!!!!!". You sir need to get of this site and every other PS3 hacking site. Also before you reply back to this comment I have a question for you. Where is your contribution to the scene or you duel boot PS3? anyone remebering how to flash the tsop on the original xboxs? didn't that split the nand so you cuold dual boot between a custom dash like evolution x and the offical MS dash so you could play online? Why cant PS3s do the same thing?

I won't jump to conclusions, but not seeing the Video/TV Services menu does make me a bit sceptical. If it's real though, power to homebrew. (Not piracy, that's not what this scene is about).

E3 has been pretty good with their products in the past, so what reason would they have for faking this? They know that they would just be losing business if they were, in fact, releasing a "fake" product. Also, if you pause right at 0:24, you'll see that the user can still scroll up in the Video menu.

it makes no difference, where it says video it should say TV/Video Services in 3.70 sony changed it and there is no conformation that the video is actulally from the people at e3 they might just be using their name to release a video.

Take note that the video might not be from the US. Thus in different locales, they may not have the "TV/Video Services." Like on the PSP, you switch it to a different Region and the XMB may get an option or lose one.

MAC can be spoofed, and quite easily, which is why i don't know if the video is legit.
I have no doubt that it works, but i wonder why did they make a video so flawed to showcase the product. Seems like a terrible idea.

I think that it is a fair observation since the name of the PS3 doesnt change when doing a firmware update as far as i know.

However, i think that the 3.70 dump was done on a PS3 with the name PS3-256, and the 3.55 dump was done on a PS3 with the name PS3-169. That, or they changed the name manually on the same PS3 between firmware 3.55 and 3.70. So it can still be legit indeed.

For your info the Tv/Video service tab isn't always there until you sign in to PS Home for some reason, don't ask why it happened to me and many others round the 'net. And the Video tab is still there, at least on mine it is, the Video is for stored videos and the TV/Video Services tab is for streaming TV/Movies e.g LoveFilm etc

It's not fake people . The difference in dates, names and some features are all due to the differences in the two dumps being used and also because after a software update some settings are lost e.g (date & default lang).

it could be that the 3.55 dump uses a different name and the 3.70 dump uses a different system name. These things that all of you have noticed are supposed to or can easily be changed in a ps3 after a software update But the MAC address should ALWAYS stay the same and it is shown here that it doesn't change.
Lastly, before you go on calling this fake please read up on how dual boot works, you must know that two different dumps are used so different settings can be expected.
Hope I cleared your doubts. :)

this might not be correct but different regions have different stuff on the xmb. the e3 team is probably japanese or something and over there they don't have the tv/video option. but this is just a guess i'm pretty sure this is legit

Not true on PS3,
yes you can spoof the MAC on Windows, Linux,,,etc since the driver on that OS allows you to do that which is needed in some situations, But it is not the same on PS3, the driver doesn't allow that and if this guy can hack it to change the MAC then hell he can hack it to change the FW too. they are all stored on flash/eeprom memories.
