True Blue Now Usable On Downgraded Consoles

Submitted by Demonchild; January 01, 2012

Who here has at least once in their life downgraded their PS3 console when the methods were first made available back when it easy? Nowadays, those with a firmware higher than 3.55 will have to grab some equipment and have some soldering skills at hand. If you managed to get your PS3 downgraded after all the troubles and want to use the True Blue dongle, you're in luck as Kado has released a patch to make it happen.

You'll need a good dump of your NOR flash to get going. From there, follow these steps to patch your flash to get it working with True Blue:

1. Dump your NOR flash using Progskeet first if you didn't have a good dump from your console.
2. Download patch file attached to this thread.
3. Extract this file and you will get 4 folders use patch in folder "Coba_2" to patch your dump using WinSkeet.
4. Apply this patch to your dump then flash it to your console.
5. Enter a Factory Service Mode using any method you like.
6. Use TB CFW with Lv2diag.self to flash your TB CFW in FSM.
7. Start your console normally, if it brick just dump this NOR flash again then patch again using "Coba_2" patch.
8. If it still bricked use "Coba_3" patch to patch your dump again then flash it back to your console.
9. Start console normally, now your console can run TB CFW on downgraded console.
10. Power off your console, plug your TB Dongle then power it on again and enjoy .

Of course, this is all done with no guarantees, so do this at your own risk! If it works for you, make sure to report back.

The install way mentioned above implies that the true blue CFW has the Lv1.self checks dissabled. This of course can permit dual firmware with OFW 4.00.

The other way of doing this requires you to 1) dump your nor/nand 2) apply the same downgrade patch files using winskeet 3) flash back the patched nor/nand dump 4) put your console in factory service mode 5) use rogero CFW v2 with Lv2diag.self 6) use the Lv2diag.self (exit) 7) install qa_Flags.pkg 8) trigger qa flagging and enable system update debug and use qa servers debug 9) put your console in recovery mode and install OFW 3.55 from usb (the sony way) 10) install 3.55 CFW of your choice fron either recovery mode or XMB, both will be accepted. True Blue, Kmeaw... even 3.41 OFW can be installed (from recovery) with the condition that your console was stock on 3.41 or below when you bought the console.

P.S. NEVER go below stock firmware from when you perchased your console.
