Well isn't this something. It looks like the guys over at True Blue have had enough of their dongle...or have they? In an unannounced move, they have ceased production of the dongle that has arguably been the center of the dongle wars, as many like to call it.
On Lightake's product page for the dongle, a message has been posted in the description explaining the situation that a lot of people are talking about today.
True Blue JB2 was stop producing and a newest replace product will be released in July, please pay close attention to TB official site news update in recently days. Any questions just contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for help.
As you can see, it mentions that a replacement product will be released in July, which is right around the corner. Will this be another dongle to help keep the dongle wars going? This is a shocker indeed but I guess with the slowdown of game patches and with the release of dongle free EBOOTs, True Blue's time was coming.
I sent an email to Lightake for details about the future of the dongle. If and when I get a reply, I'll be sure to update you guys.

According to GaryOPA, this is about the fourth time the TB team has done this move. It most likely means a revised dongle coming soon. If they are telling you to watch the official site for more information, then I can tell you it will not be about quiting the business. Normally, if a dongle developer quits the scene, they just go silent.

They are going to re-release the exact same dongle with a slight difference and claim that everyone needs to buy the new one. Sales are slowing down so its a great time to weasel in and convince all their existing customers to buy the same thing all over again.

maybe it's a 4.20 cfw/dongle... omg .. that would be sick

Yeah, it's probably just another revision to improve the security. I just freakin' hope we get free patches without the need of a dongle. I wonder if this new revision and the upcoming game patches will work on the older TB dongles.

as long as the current dongle will still be compatible i aint fussed.
i would be very peed off aswell as many others if TB team have decided they have to make a new dongle to try and prevent hackers stealing their work and all its new patches for newer games will only be compatible.
another note i find it stupid how hackers hack the firmware/games so that people can play them for free, and the other hackers cant do so, so they hack those that can, instead of hacking a newer cfw.
if anything shouldnt they be hacking the console and not its fellow hackers because therye all working on the same scene
