True Blue 2.61 Firmware Working On JB-King's Dongle?

The war involving True Blue and JB-King rages on. After True Blue dropped their 2.61 dongle firmware update earlier, you would think that JB-King will be firing back. The thing is, they haven't. A JB-King dongle owner has taken it upon himself to try and see if the TB update would install. Here is his findings.

The update does install successfully, as you can see in the video posted above. Other members who have attempted the update have reported that it works fine, and that the latest True Blue game patches released earlier are working as well. Like everyone is saying, it's strange that the latest dongle firmware update is working natively with the JB-King dongle. Earlier in the month, True Blue revealed their anti clone technologies, one of which formatted the PS3's internal hard drive. JB-King managed to crack the technology and released their own update that got rid of this protection.

You're free to try this out for yourself. Remember, True Blue's technology is still active in these firmwares so be ready to deal with the unexpected consequences of the anti clone technologies. If this causes too much of a concern for you, you are definitely better off waiting for an official update from the JB-King team.
