The developer of the various Tomb Raider games since 2006, Crystal Dynamics, has revealed that they will be unveiling a new IP this year.
Cystal Dynamics' Community Manager, Meagan Marie, revealed this on the Square Enix EU Blog, saying that 2012 will be a huge year for the studio, with their Tomb Raider reboot leading the way. As far as the new IP goes, she merely said that they will "be hard at work preparing to reveal [an] exciting new intellectual property to the world."
2012 is the 20-year anniversary of Crystal Dynamics (has it really been that long?) and apparently this is one way they're celebrating that fact. It's more likely just a great coincedence, but hey good for them!
Who knows what this new IP could be, as CD (a subsidiary of Square Enix) has worked on a wide variety of games in the past, but for now I'm looking forward to this Tomb Raider reboot!
