The PNM Project - In the Final Stages

No_One has shared some deets concerning his hobby hack project called The PNM Project. PNM has entered the final stage and is almost ready for the masses... Once completed and No_One releases the full details, any hardcore hacker with a steady hand can solder this doodad to their PS3 main board and hopefully capture the 3.60+ firmware keys. Don't get it twisted though; No_One will not be releasing the keys, just the details. And I quote:

PNM is now wired to the motherboard of a SLIM PS3 : DYN-001. The first results are fine. PNM is correctly powered by the PS3 itself. Much better, PNM is now capable to power on/off automatically the PS3. Firmware is choosen using a jumper. Here is how it will work (very soon) : - remove the power cable - place the jumper to choose Firmware #1 or Firmware #2 - connect the power cable And then the PS3 starts automatically without human interaction. Let me clarify some points read here and there. I never promised the 3.6+ public keys ! I just said that PNM will allow to find them nothing else. This project is a hobby. I work as fast as I can. Please stop the lame remarks concerning the delay ! I will come back soon with the final video demonstration.

This is just a tool to obtain these keys..

That way anyone can grab these keys so Sony cant point the finger at anyone directly..

All someone has to do is make some sort of kitchen app where we can cook our own CFW.. and presto everyone is running latest custom firmware with Sony with no one to blame but the user.

Sure I made it sound so much easier the n it is.. but I think that is the goal with releasing this tool..

So glad to hear the keys are almost out! As for CFW 3.72 I don't see the point. Face it you will never be able to have a hacked PS3 and PSN access without getting banned.

It's good to have updated CFW so you dont need to patch new games(that you buy) and for new OFW features. But you're right about PSN access, if we get it back we'll either loss it quickly or they'll dish out bans.

The information is gone be holding back until the major releases of the year, such BF3, CoD:MW3 and much others. So, sony will can't fix the issue in time. If it's released now, sony will fix before the major game releases, and we will be in a loss.

See this is what we need, No_One is bringing it back to the fundamentals of hacking. He is not going out for the "look what I can do" but more of the here it is and this is my knowledge to be shared on the subject. More people should handle situations like No_One does with their releases in information but for how long will this last? I only say this as even No_One was troubled enough to have to go out of their way and speak about remarks being made on progress. What I suggest is this to all people who complain on others work. If you think you can do it faster, then do it, if you cant possibly comprehend, well then, sit down and shut up.

You would get banned.

That leading to your computer, all smart phone devices, your ps3, xbox anything that's a portable media device being confiscated you would be committing an FCC offense so you could even be banned from cordless phones if they wanted to be an ass. All those items? Forget about getting them back, gone forever. You will have fines, many. Parole after any jail time you would serve, if any. If they find the keys, they could make an application for the PS3 that does it all with software and "decrypts the system" to find it, for educational purposes only, then we all have it.

[If you're working or will work with Sony or you're able to ban/send to jail someone, you agree not to take the follow message for any use, no exception]

The application with actually contain the keys and are going to be scrambled and then they can be unscrambled with the app. So they're giving us a "tool" which are actually the keys. Which is like... the drug in the soap bar lol xD

It's almost guaranteed that Sony would lose in court and result in yet another change to the DMCA, this is no different than the Apple vs. Hotz case. If the end result weren't so menial and piracy-based I would say someone should just bite the fucking bullet and do it.

I think it's about time to abandon the scene, if you can't play Skyrim or The Last Guardian what's the fucking point in even owning a PS3?

I think maybe i'm the one who got it mixed up. I know that some keys were found through calculation and that Sony fixed this problem in firmware 3.56. Looking over at ps3devwiki.com, i see that the public keys are listed for 3.56, but not the private keys. So maybe it is the public keys that can still be found, but not the private keys. My mistake, sorry. You only need one set of keys to decrypt the firmware though.

Sorry, i mixed things up. I know that one set of keys were found through calculation, but Sony fixed this in firmware 3.56. Looking over at ps3devwiki.com, i see that the public keys for 3.56 are listed, but not the private keys. So it turns out that it is the public keys that can be found afterall, but not the private keys (at least not through calculation). My mistake, sorry. You only need one set of keys to decrypt the firmware though. The private keys is used to sign/encrypt stuff, while the public keys are used to decrypt stuff. I first thought it was the other way around.

The simplest way to post the keys to any public site would be to put yourself behind several proxies. OR just post the keys to a .onion site behind the TOR routing service. TOR offers complete and totaly anonymit y. The government could find out where you live withing a 20 mile radius, but that is it. They couldnt find out your name, your real IP address, they couldnt get any info on you that they could use against you.

I don't understand why no one has considered this as an option.
