Sony Gets Denied by U.S. District Judge

The Honorable Susan Illston hammers her gavel down, denying Sony their motion to subpoena several Internet sites including YouTube, Twitter, PayPal, etc. in hopes to locate the whereabouts of fail0verflow and other PS3 hackers. So KaKaRoTo, Waninkoko, graf_chokolo, Hermes and Kmeaw can rest easy tonight ... that's not to say they were worried, after all graf has setup a new site dedicated to his PS3 hacking efforts. - source: eurogamer

Well with all the drama and the fact that homebrew can deactivate our ps3s on 3.56 this is probably the end for homebrew on the Ps3 but this is my theorie maybe we can downgrade from 3.56 to 3.55 or earlier than change patch or run hombrew then just install 3.56 again ;p this is probably the only way we will ever be able to run homebrew again.

When Graf_Chokolo release's his Linux build there won't be a need for custom firmwares anymore because all the commands will be run IN LINUX.

That means we can ditch the XMB and run everything In linux, Emulators can EASILY be ported into linux instead of reworking them to run on the XMB,

It's easier to program on Linux now that it's opened up to it's full potential to the PS3 so this gives more dev's onboard to program with or without a Ps3.

When he releases his work we'll see the most EPIC gaming console on the planet (because of the branched out features of having Linux included).

It's funny how we all say "stupid Sony for trying to do this". Now, I completely agree with you. But I really, really think sony is getting screwed over by their lawyers. I think the lawyers are going to town on Sony's situation and willingness to pay for anything that they can tell Sony may help stop the hack from spreading.

I mean, really....trying to identify people for mere comments? Do these lawyers even know the US law? How stupid is that? Or is it stupid or merely an excuse to file a motion, which takes money spent from Sony's behalf.

Which really means...Sony is not only a big cry baby but a big cry baby that doesn't know how to fight and is letting somebody else handle it for them. And that someone else is stabbing them in the back...

so i have a question remember when sony first came out and they got away with not paying a pile of duty fees or something like that with the defense that it was a computer gaming console. but now that they've removed 90% of the features that made it a computer gaming console. would it still be a computer gaming console or just a gaming console. and if its just a gaming console i thing they'd owe a few pesos to someone may not help hotz but at same time not so good for sony. who's acting like a virgin showing off they have never been penetrated before well guees what someone snuck in there and got your virginity. so what get over it and move on. there's always gonna be someone smarter out there its life. get over it fix the issue best you can or bring out a new console not the end of the world.

Recently after upgrading to GEN D3, I have been faced with an annoying (but not critical) bug were the X and O buttons swap. On the XMB it is normal where X is to confirm and O is to cancel, but as soon as the game launches, they swap and I don't know why.
