Sony Back in Biz in Europe

Just a quick follow up to this post... Hague's civil court of justice has ruled in favour of Sony. All consoles seized due to LG's accusations against Sony for infringing on their patent, in which LG was granted preliminary injunction against the accused, have been returned -- Sony is back in biz for '11! And to add insult to injury, the court has slapped a €130,000 fine across LG's patent-havin' face ... and it'll be even more if they don't pay up quick. - source: derangedshaman

dude fuck sony and fuck you, SEGA was twice the console manufacturer that sony is, the only reason SEGA couldn't compete with sony was because they spent their money on making good console instead of advertising and buying out game studios unlike Sony who shat out broken console but paid studios to only release games for them.

as much as i hate sony for a few reasons i have to disagree with you,PS3 isnt overpriced and its games are amazing so sony can only be blamed for the removal of OS thats my opinion

dude... you're forgetting about ALL of the consoles that worked with OtherOS. Remember the original machines? Yea.. $500 dollars? You bet it was over priced, and Sony got away with removing functionality you paid that amount for.

patent infringement is a million times worse for the owner because millions and billions could be profited from such ingenuity.
Even though I own a PS3, i do hope Sony just dies.

i agree. everyone assumes sony has done something wrong. nothing has been proven yet. the ps3 has been out 5 years. why didnt LG speak up before now if they had a grievance? LG only brought this complaint as retaliation against sonys claims. if anyone is the asshole its LG for being so heavy handed.

Funny... that's essentially Sony's argument... they (the customers) didn't all know it was there, they didn't know how to use it, not enough people used it...

But those aren't the points that makes Sony wrong for removal. They're trying to side-step the important facts... like we bought it. It's ours, like it or not.

Ever bought "useless" shit before? Something that looked useful but wasn't, something at a second-hand market, something somebody else thought was useless but you had a use for...

I shouldn't have been made to choose between 2 important advertised features, both which I paid for access to. PSN (and paid content associated), and Linux for whatever the hell I felt like.

Who released the update in the first place then? Who made the update mandatory for everyone to be able to play on PSN? Who decided that it was a good idea not to put the feature in the Slim models? Certainly not me, certainly not you, certainly not anyone but Sony.

nothing has proven of LG's allegations. keep in mind guys, if sony do go down, that means no more ps3's or maybe any other ps's in the future. think before you throw out these hate speeches. and yeah im not saying that sony is "good" but, all i'm saying is, if the ps series are your favorite consoles, you might wanna want to keep them in a stable state so that they do keep making em consoles.
