SEGA In Deep Water

Submitted by UnashamedVandal; March 30, 2012

It seems that a lot of gaming companies have struggled recently and with the problems GAME Group is facing; is it inevitable that others will follow? SEGA is a huge gaming company, one of the godfathers of gaming, so when news like this hits the internet it is never a good sign. Sega has warned investors that turnover profits for the term ending on the 31st March are set to shock, according to reports the company hasn't been doing particularly well and this is going to have some backlash on the industry itself. SEGA's big dogs have told investors that the company is hitting a downfall and as a result will not only have to lose many employees throughout the world, but will also have to bail out on games so they can focus on the future. The gaming legends new idea to cut down expenditure and maximise focus on surviving is a pre-emptive strike on the situation that other business didnt see coming. Are Sega an exception to the rule though? Can they survive the horror that is the current gaming market? Let me know your thoughts.

That's what they get for not producing a version of Panzer Dragoon Saga for the new consoles.

I think they have been lacking on original ip for a long time which has hurt them. They can only make so many sonic games for so long. The problem is that gamers tastes have changed and sea (and many Japanese gaming companies) have failed to cater to western gamers. The market is rapidly changing and they haven't been able to catch up. I hope they can survive and come out on top.

Hey Sega Yakuza is one hell of a game but poor advertising for it led it to be not so popular but me i love the series i have all except Yakuza 4 and Yakuza Dead Souls which i am planning on buying soon but with not getting english translators and i really hate that Text reading that sega games is popular for maybe sega should move to Multi-Plate forms like alot of companies have recently because and i hate to admit it but staying loyal to one company like sony which is not cutting the bacon anymore in my book just saying (im still a playstation fan though always will be) is doing and not to mention poor game inventions these game writers now adays are wanting to reel in the money with not putting much effort into there games which is why many are looking into jailbreaking there PS3 or PSP etc etc to try before you buy and not to mention the outragous prices for one single video game $70.00 dollars with taxes included! outragous!!! i will say if gaming industries want to stay alive they must first put way more effort into creating there games and 2 lower prices to a reasonable price...
