Reverse Engineering PS3 JB2

The jailbreak 2 dongle, or JB2, is legit... It works as described: You're able to play 3.60+ required games, burned on a blank Blu-ray disc, on [custom] firmware 3.55. But how exactly does it work? Well in due time we'll have that answer I'm sure. Right now the hardcore hackers are reverse engineering the device and coinciding firmware, and when that's all said and done, we'll probably have a software solution available for free ... just like the original psjailbreak dongle. As I said the reverse engineering effort has already started; if you're interested you can keep up right here at the PS3 Developer Wiki. Some files have been leaked too: the Dongle updater and the JB2 custom firmware, which will no doubt shed light on what's happening behind-the-scenes. Visit the source for all that and more. This is a problem with the two games that team duplex hacked. When you download Explodemon you unrar it an install the install .PKG you get the stacking game instead.the crack pkg is for explodmon.to fix this goole for the game stacking and explodemon and swap the install pkg s and then rename them. example if it says (stacking install.pkg) rename (Explodemon.install.pkg) get the point .This took some thought the figure out I come to realize that people make mistakes when in a hurry and this is the case with these to games. hope this helps Questions... debnjays@yahoo.com

I think there is room for softmods, but if we rip apart the hardware mods immediately and the hardware hackers make little money for all of their effort, what is going to keep hardware hackers working for us?

Support the hardware hackers or we may be sitting here for several more years with no mods again.

It's stated to only work on 3.55. Sony can't just update your firmware from 3.55 for you, nor can they change it so that this dongle doesn't work.

your lookin at arround £100 for a decent burner, then the cost for a disc that will fit the game, plus the cost to buy this thing that will be blocked.

you might aswell buy the game or if your cheap and cant afford the brand new retail cost either wait till its pre-owned or look online for a pre-owned copy.

its people like you that are the reason sony changes its T&Cs, you hate the company that stops piracy yet love the hackers that allow it.

can i ask you a question, can i have your keys so i can take your tv, radio while im at it can i take your car without paying, if you dont give me your keys will you be happy if i break in and take everything for free??

The BluRays are single layer. I've bought 10 packs of Verbatim for just over $20. Burners are cheap. I bought mine last year for less than $100. Bring on the JB2!

I lost patience and updated,lost all my Emulators etc but it seemed like there was no light at the end of the tunnel!!! Then this came along the next day...typical.Im now on the latest firmware,would i have to downgrade to get this working.My console was bought at 3.41?

The only way to dowgrade is the E3 flasher, but as said, it will only work with a e3 custom firmware... If you use another CFW, your ps3 will brick, it's said by e3.

If you upgrade you will have to wait more, and more until a 3.7x CFW, that i think won't hapen, or exchange your ps3 for another with the 3.55 firmware.

The important thing is we will be playing 3.6+ games until sony makes a new OFW.

Until there i will have tons of Terabytes of games in my HDs and maybe some BD discs... My fun is garantied...

By the way Sony is trilhionary, and the children in the world poor of food, imagine their needs of fun...

That's not the only problem. Even if you have a Blu-Ray burner like myself, the only disc that are really out there are the 25GB single layer ones. What are we supposed to do for a double layer game(like Final Fantasy XIII for example)?

I thought if i formatted the hardrive it would ask for firmware 3.41 or above upon restarting.Thus enabling me to install 3.55 OFW and work from there?

The firmware is not in Hd, if you format you will be still with 3.7x firmware. As i said or e3 flasher to downgrade or exchange the ps for another on with a 3.55 Fw

totally agree with unegro, you'll being enjoying the games you so wanting to play so badly for a long time now, its gna take sony some time to figure out how to counteract this situation. By the time they busy banging there heads together, i gna enjoying disgaea 4, DBZ ultimate tenkaichi, Catherine etc the list just goes on. So im hoping the Devs pull through with this, im really rooting for those guys.
