PSGroove Hermes v4b Released Updated

Here we go again -- Hermes v4b. Hermes quote:

4B raw2payload includes a correction for those who use Windows and fixes a stupid mistake I made by copying the files, because the port1_config_descriptor.h port1_config_descriptor.bin and are in fact the V3 version. If you compiled the. S, have the V4 and if not .. as well, sorry for the failure.

Perhaps another reason to use github? Anyway... I'm not sure if our previously compiled hex binaries are proper or not, as per Hermes comment, so here is Hermes' v4b from Hermes himself. Two hex files are included: 1) Teensy 1.0 AT90USB162 and, 2) USBKEY AT90USB1287. Others are likely to follow. Update: optimus who? xcrime -- that's optimusxcrime with Hermes v4b for just about every board. Thanks man!

I don't get why people act so immature towards the devs. Yeah Hermes should probably use git but he is definately smarter than me when it comes to this stuff and I appreciate what he contributes. At least KaKaRoTo said what he thought in a decent way (at least the way I read it). Honestly tho, I'm already using PsGroove+PL3.

Hermes V4 wouldn't install some patches and PSgroove+PL3 actually froze my PS3 twice.

So I went back to Hermes V3 + everything seems to work just fine.

The difference between Hermes and github for me was that Hermes provided a ready to use end product, I have a usb clone and a N900, I've got ready to use hex files from Hermes, but my N900 is out of date with payloads because the author is not compiling but just releasing source code w/ newer payload which is useless for the end user. I want the .ko file. For me to use it I have to use VMware, Maemo SDK virtual image then I have to learn how to compile the 800k file.

I would be grateful if people who have the Maemo SDK compile newer updates for end users.

It seems to me that alot of you people are disrespectful really....

I mean, these people [the devs] have the knowledge [and the spare time]to ceate something [and constantly update it]so everyone can jailbreak their ps3z. [ for free mind you]No one could do this 2 months ago remember, even so, there is just so many rubbish remarks that just take up valuble infomative space IMHO.

I mean sure who am I? I have been patently waiting for the day that my ps3 would be hackable... Now it's finally here and most people seem to act as if they deserve these hacks and have the right to bitch and complain when something isn't working.

Unfortunatly I am a little dossapointed with the ps3 community and somewhat agree with kaka as there is just to Many diffrent things going on at once and there is a need to standised the hacking of the ps3.

At the same time it is amazing that there are so many diffrent ways and diffrent devices to hack the ps3. But unfortunatly this has opened the playing field right up... Unfortunatly leaving others behind....

It would of kinda of been nice to be have been stuck with only one option to hack [like the wii for instance] therfore only having to look for one update at a time instead of being totally lost!!!

All Im hoping for is a custom firmware option similer to the psp hacking community. 3.50M33 anyone???

I know I'm ranting alittle but I'm on holidays at the moment, 1600km away from my ps3z. I have been hacking it with an iPhone 2G but I got my ps3key just before I left so I can't wait to get home and play it... Just seems like I have so much playing around before I can get back on track!!!!

Bottom line.... Give respect to these devs, they are creating the exploits free of charge.

I have a teensy and am running backup manager. All my games work. Why change to a different manager? I know Manager v2 plays the backups without a disc. But when its installed all the games backed up with manager v1 don't work. Does each backup have to be used with the manager pkg that was used to perform the backup??

Again why all the different managers? If the original one works , why change?

I think its absolutely hilarious that someone gets bashed for any sort of contribution or work done on any sort of project.

Even funnier yet, Hermes V4 seems to be the only payload delivering the goods on 3.42+ required firmware games at the moment.

Even funnier then that is when testing PL3 I had few 'WTF' moments two or more where I occured actually freezing of the PS3.

So enlighten me please...but what has the guy done wrong again to deserve a verbal lashing from certain corners of the community?

His code isn't up to par? Freaking reedonkulous.

Had to come on here, even though i'm certain he won't see this, and thank not only him but also those that recompile his love onto all the boards.

I'm gonna have to back you up with the freezing of my PS3, PL3 has frozen my PS3 twice and it has NEVER crashed like that before EVER, I reverted back to Hermes and everything is fine.....long live Hermes.
