PSFreedom for iPhone 2G & 3G with Hermes v4b

MystikalDesigns sent this one in (I missed it a couple days ago) -- PSFreedom with Hermes v4b for iPhone 2G and 3G -- compiled by tehreaper. This is for those who prefer Hermes to PL3. To get this running you'll find instructions (2nd video) and the other supporting downloads here. Download the appropriate iphodroid package and replace the files in that with this one. Download: PSFreedom for iPhone 2G/3G with Hermes v4b

PL3 is probably the best to go with right now. Some might just prefer Hermes v4b. I am running the latest PL3 for iPhone 2G called "idroid3/2g_pl3_nos_3_41". All of them can be found here: http://psfreedom.com/wiki/IPho...

Hermes v4b will work just as fine too it's just a matter of personal preference.

NOTE: The differences between pl3 and pl3_nos with respect to 3.42 games:
- PL3 a patch to PL3 that fixes 80010019 error of MOH... works with no update necessary now

- PL3_nos is equivalent to enabling "Patched mode" in a BM with hermes payload

Which version of PS3 firmware do you have? I can guarantee you I used this for my iPhone 2G and I installed MOH fine and it loaded correctly with no problems. I'm sure I switched patched mode on and started it. Once it installed and everything, I switched to the new PL3 as I prefer it. I have sent Greg the files again so he can make sure. I can assure you though, these are not fake and if you need any help let me know. I want to help.

Use PL3, because kakaroto will always update his playload and always will save earth from evil. Hermes will not, cuz he is not with us anymore.

I just can´t make it work.. I have a 2g iphone and 3.41 fat ps3.. but I can´t any game to play.. All I get is black screen. Already tried erasing game data and starting fresh but still no game.. anyone could help???

oh PL3 is great but i can´t get to load properly. you see to get my ps3 to load the first hermes payload that supported backup manager, i have to do additional steps than the usual, because i kept getting a message that said "unknown usb device has been connected", so to stop that a guy helped me out and the deal was to disconnect and connect the ipod from the ps3 when certain text on the ipod appeared. i´ve try that on this payload and the 2 additional icons do show, but when i try to load a homebrew an error appears. and if i don´t disconnect the ipod the same usb error keeps showing. i have a ps3 slim 250gb and a ipod 1g, if you could help me load it properly y would appreciate it.

Glad someone got it working. Try the latest Gaia Manager think it is 1.02. It should be on this site, check a few updates ago.

Yes, you can put the latest PL3 on your iPod Touch 1G and then put Hermes v4b on your iPhone 3G. However, it's just more hassle to be honest. Just stick with PL3 for now I'd suggest.

Are you sure you replaced the files in private/var on your iPhone 2G? You have to replace both files. Someone else has confirmed it works so you must have done something wrong. It did load my MOH game fine using Open Manager v2.1f. Which manager are you using?

Yes, I replaced both file in private/var but didn´t work. I tried with Gaia v1.0 and Open Manager most recent release.

I also tried the new Gaia 1.02 and still get the same. No game is working, all I get is black screen.

I can´t get PL3 on my iphone 3G to show the loaded disc in xmb just shows the game name that is on the actual physical disc in the drive. With Hermes 4 it works fine, but MMA won´t start, have tried changing the param.sfo etc but it won´t install. used gaia as sell as newset open and backup managers.
Anyone run into same problem?

installed this latest PL3_nos for ipod touch 1G and now all of my games wont boot...Im using latest gia manager and every game installed on my inHdd doesnt boot...giving eboot not found error and when it says try to fix it nothing happen!.the games itself doesnt show in titles but in ID`s and no covers!

Im going back to PL3 v1.1..it unstable but its my first manager to exactly let me play games w/out disc..well some of it!

Try loading the games without the options on the right on. Some games need them on others off.

I'm using the first version of psfreedom-iphodroid2g-pc + pasted this up (Hermes V4b iPhone2g-3g) + Open Manager 2.1G. Games like RE5 GE, HR, NBA 2k11 or EA MMA works like a charm.

It finally worked here. I tested with nba2k11. But unfortunately I won´t keep this new payload because many games I play doesn´work, like The Saboteur, keeps loading loading loading.....

But really congrat to those people who manage to develop the payload!!!

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface.
