PS JailBreak Cloned (Again) by Respected PSP Hackers

I'm saying "respected PSP hackers" because I'm not sure of their actual group name, if a name even exists... But you probably recognize this particular name if you're a PSP-hacks reader: Mathieulh. And Mathieulh tweets, "Someone from our group just successfully cloned the psjailbreak dongle. Going to improve the shell code soon." You know what that likely means? A real cheap solution is coming your way.

Update: A quick follow-up to clarify some things... Mathieulh and Co. does not plan on releasing anything but some good, solid documentation. Reverse, improve, document. That's the plan. - source: Mathieulh on Twitter

The only negative thing that can come of this is people cheating in games online, which I hope never happens.

you people just waste it for everyone else ,would you like it if sony dropped the ps3 and cancelled a ps4 ,also cancelled psp2 and went back to just making tv's and hifi's ? i mean ,what if they came out in a press conference tomorrow and stated just that ,would this make you happy ?

mods are cool ,some hacks are also cool but this is violation and unfair to all the many 100000s of users of the ps3 not to mention the games companies that will lose a lot of money,then there will be all the cheating online and possible psn id stealing ,there are alot of bad things that can come of this apart from playing a backup you never paid for.

My hope is that when they crack down they just crack down on the Backup Manager and leave homebrew that doesn't exist simply to infringe on copyrights alone. Seems like the easiest way for them to do it, too.

The gaming industry is multi billions dollar industry, there is no way in hell that any gaming company will just turn tail and leave. It's like saying Hollywood will stop making movies because ppl pirate those as well. The ones complaining the most arent the developers but the publishers, and as we already know, just like those of the music industry, they are just greedy for more money.

How do you turn off your ps3? If you use the switch in the back to kill the power it abrubtly stops all the proccesses and moving parts, thus causes damage both hardware and software and eventually the BR drive motor dies. This is what happened to me once. The only way you should turn it off is by holding your finger on the front power button until it beeps, and it'll shut itself down. Avoid manually killing the power if possible.

Real thing for a Free/ish hack would be the ability to make devices we already have (PSP, iPhone, Android phone, PC running Linux Boot disk, etc) to work as the device and then managed to load a Permanent OS hack so you can still use your device for other things. Other wise you are going to get to making cheap devices to be sold on the net and Homebrew devices for those that know hardware. I am looking forward to good documentation on how things happen and maybe a working AVR and other micro controller code in C so I can check out making my own for personal use.

Well it all comes down to whats in the code, if they can show that they didn't steal Sonys code and remade it so it infringes on copyright then its all sweet. I think perhaps there is truth on that part but Sony can afterwards file for more court hearings and argue that the device infringes bluray copy protection or some crap and even tho they have failed before its sort of a 50/50 split on that argument. Meanwhile I think as long as the code is legit then the shipments will go out, however future sales in the future could be stopped if court devices its a illegal device. (but like I said its a hard case on both sides and the court may just tell both parts to get lost because their busy LOL)

I usually turn it of by holding down on the controller and shut the system down or just hold the power button. I may have hit the switch once or twice in the past but thats only if the game froze and i couldnt turn it off the other ways. But i know i never had a problem until i purchased GOW3 and booted it up and got to the opening movie then it froze, i held the home button on the controller and quit game, went to restart the game but it wouldnt read the disc and then i tried every other game and bluray movie and none would read

Funny part most hard (mirco-controllers with usb are sold out)

But you can or will can use Nokia Iphone (their working already) and soon PSP

Check newsgroups sites like ftd for the software.

You can als by a jailbreak clone for about 30 or 40 dollar
(make yourself is easy and cost nothing if you have a PSP Nokia n900 Iphone etc or when u buy hardware about 20 dollar
