PS Downgrade Real - Confirmed Working 100% Updated

I can personally tell you that PS Downgrade is the real deal. I'll attempt a video later -- just know I successfully downgraded my PS3 Slim running 3.50 to 3.41 a few moments ago. And so we're clear: ps-downgrade.com is not a scam; they're the real deal -- and very helpful too. I bought my PS Downgrade update for $40 and although it took more than 48 hours, they still delivered; I understand that to be PS Jailbreak's problem but lets not get into he said she said. After all the PS Jailbreak team did it again! We have for you the modified 3.41 PUP, both Lv2diag.self files, and the PS Updater app (to update your PS Jailbreak with PS Downgrade). Instructions on all that below. I believe the FLA file (the PS Downgrade software) is specific to each PS Jailbreak device. But I've included mine anyway. Maybe someone can do something with it. How to Downgrade your PS3 with PS Downgrade

Insert PS Jailbreak device that has been reprogrammed as PS Downgrade into your console
Turn on the console using the same boot method as PS Jailbreak: Press power then immediately press eject. Your console will turn on and PS Jailbreak will light up with red/green LEDs followed by green only, then the PS3 will turn off.
Turn on console to make sure you are in factory service mode. You will see a huge red box on the screen saying Factory Service Mode. Once confirmed please turn off console and remove PS Downgrade Dongle.
Program any blank USB mass storage device with 2 files:
1. the modified 3.41 PUP
2. Lv2Diag.self (rename Lv2diag.self.1).
These must be the only files on the USB key and must be placed in the main (root) directory.
Insert this USB mass storage device into the USB port to the right -- the first USB port in from the right side if you're facing the console. Turn the PS3 on and you will see black screen but the PS3 HDD light will flash.
Wait 3 minutes for the system to install the old firmware. Towards the end the power button on the console will start flashing green and then your console will power off.
Remove the USB key and turn on the console, you will still be in factory service mode. Please verify you have downgraded successfully to version 3.41.
(Optional) – If you wish to downgrade to any older firmware you can follow step 4, 5, 6 using any regular firmware PUP. (You do not need to use modified custom firmware now that you are on 3.41).
Insert USB key back into your PC, remove the PUP and Lv2Diag.self file, and copy only the other LV2Diag.self (rename Lv2diag.self.2) to the USB key.
Power on your console, after 10 seconds it will power off
Turn on your console again with no USB inserted and you will be out of factory service mode and back in retail mode with your chosen firmware version installed.

With this you're able to downgrade any PS3 running firmware 3.42 or 3.50 and "beyond" ... I wonder if Sony has any plans on revising their hardware soon. I suspect this is similar to Pandora's battery for the PSP, which ultimately forced Sony to release the TA088v3 closing off that backdoor. If you just can't wait and you already own a PS Jailbreak, or if you want to buy a PS Jailbreak too, then you do that and you downgrade your PS3; you can buy the standalone update or both PS Jailbreak and software at ps-downgrade.com. Otherwise sit patient because you know this'll be open sourced real soon.

Update: Use PS Downgrade with extreme caution. I've semi-bricked my PS3 while playing around. As PS Jailbreak stated, I guess you can only attempt a downgrade once. Now I don't believe my PS3 to be fully bricked; I say semi because I can repeat step 6 and the system does try flashing PS3UPDAT.PUP from the USB key again. During that flashing process it succeeds throughout many stages; however, towards the end it fails with:

Updating or Verifying failure 0x8002f057 UpMng.UpdatePackage() failure manufacturing updating FAILURE(0x8002f057) Total Elapsed time = 156974 msec

Now (without the USB key inserted) the PS3 just turns on and immediately powers off. I'm guessing this problem can be fixed, either by PS Jailbreak or skilled hackers who plan to rip this backdoor right off the hinges. I mean we clearly have that level of access to the PS3 now. I've uploaded the entire UPDATER_LOG.TXT for everyone to see what's going on.

Update: Wait! I'm back in business. I was able to re-flash my PS3 with the 3.50 PS3UPDAT.PUP. On the same USB key I simply replaced the modified 3.41 PUP with the original 3.50 PUP. My PS3 boots again and it boots into factory/service mode. That's pretty cool. Download: PS Downgrader (modified 3.41 firmware PUP, Lv2diag.self, PS Updater, etc.)

i just received a new slim 120gb ps3 direct from sony today as my other slim had fan problems, it has 3.50 on it, this possible to downgrade anyone know? i know they say all ps3's can but on the back of my ps3 it used to end in 2003a, it now ends in 2004a, is this still possible? greg do you know?

Why is everyone so excited bout this? Its crap!!! Had my JBreak for months now. Never upgraded my firmware from 3.41 so i been playing happily from my hard drive. Why have they not Jailbroken 3.50 or 3.42? - thats what they said they would do by end of October.... now were getting fobbed off with this downgrade pish!!! Downgrading from 3.50 to 3.41 "then" Jailbreaking IS NOT Jailbreaking a console on 3.50! I'm stuck with my pishy PSJailbreak, still can't get online and it looks like most future games will require 3.50+, not to mention the support other dongles seem to get daily. And charging extra for it is the final insult!!!

the ps updater software really, really sucks! i had countless problems with it. make sure you have the drivers installed for your ps jailbreak device too. those are installed during the ps updater installation process (run the msi - not setup.exe).

now would be a really good time to download firmware 3.5 before Sony drop it and bring out 3.51 - this firmware is needed to run GT5 and other brand new games built with sdk3.5

I will now upgrade to 3.50 since I know I can revert to older versions.

apparently it's a modified 3.41 pup file you use to downgrade the ps3 with. so at the moment, i don't think we can go lower than 3.41 hence no otherOS feature.

the issue may be that the libusb driver
which came along with the software posted here
is NOT singed!!,
using Win Vi/7 at least (64bit) turns into an issue that doesn't let you connect to the chip,
and is the same you may have using FLIP
(official Atmel tool for ATxxxx chips)
or any other program that rely on libusb-win
in order to write into the dongle chip
(which most of the time is Atmel too) ...

you have to find a patch for it (Google it)
or use another OS which doesn't complain about unsigned drivers (XP)

that's a damn good question. normally when i go into debug mode i swap drives before i do that, and when im done rebuilding databases and all that, i switch drives again (the other is blank) and thankfully the PS3 recognizes the encryption on those drives which makes that possible. however this is new territory now, downgrading could possibly wipe the drive and if you switch it, then it may not recognize the drive you put in again if it was last encountered under a newer firmware. anyone who explores this area and has any findings please share.

also, anyone tried this with PS3Key yet or any other thing like that?

right just emailed all my sources holiday carts said the one in the video has not release his software to anybody thats mean nobody so the source has been pinched by the beta release and they would like to now where the files come from told them i have no idea it has to come from the testers so i told them to hurry up and release so we can get to try it out for ourselves also that psupdater is not psdowngrade its same only blue with psdowngrade symbol written on front so holiday carts are investigate the theft and release shortly .also the guy in video comments all theft will be dealt with .told them it is psdowngrade copycats and thats why they have release software so now we all have to wait longer

Did you try placing a non-modified 3.41 PUP on the dongle and trying to downgrade it again?

Since you are in service mode (and seems like you can flash things as long as you like), might as well try downgrading with non-modified 3.41 firmware, and seeing what happens.

If you could fix it by using unmodifed 3.50, then... who knows v0v

I thought I had an answer for this, but then I doubted myself.

I know when you recieve a new system from Sony if you have it replaced. When you put the HDD in you HAVE to format it. (This downgrade is based on Sony's own "jig stick")

Since in the videos they never indicate that you have to remove the HDD it's hard to tell. The system comes on and it's as though it's a fresh system. The whole process seems a bit quick for it to format during.

When you put a HDD into the system though this is where I doubted I recall a "quick format" option that doesn't really take that long. So there is potential that it could do that at some point. But thats based off my own speculation.

So I have no clue. Wait for Greg to reply. =D

Example: I have PSJ + PSDowngrader.

I want to play GranTurismo 5, so I decide to update 3.41 => 3.50

After if I want to rejailbreak my PS3, I must use the downgrader.

After downgrade, I'm again in 3.41.

Now, I want to re-play Granturismo 5.

Can I re-update in 3.50 ?

And after 3.50 update, can I re-downgrade in 3.41 with same files sent me by PSJailbreak team ?

from what i read online, the ps downgrade requires a non clone jailbreak cus when u order your jailbreak and give the serial number to the authorized reseller the downgrade seems to be programmed for the serial number and prob is the reason for the 1 time use. The PS Jailbreak site said we need to give the serial number to the authorized reseller to get the downgrade. I ordered my ps jailbreak and downgrade from the same authorized reseller and they said that they get the downgrade from the PS Jailbreak team after they get the serial number. So to me it seems the Downgrade works that way. Since it is a software they email you and is installed onto the jailbreak itself.

Here is my storry.
I've got a PSJailbreak and today (after a version with any functionality excapt throwing error messages) has been released I tries to downgrade.
After the trial my PS3 booted said s.th like "Ohh no. the update wasn't soo good, lets try again.." .. .. .. RED SCREEN..

So I googled for a while and found the little "hack" with the recovery mode.. I tried this.. but nooo.. I don't even got in the Recovery mode.
So I changed my HDD. Now there was a new problem..
Nothing happend.. The PS3 turned on and off again..

So I thought.. OK.. One last try.. And I flashed your files..
Tadaaa I was in Service Mode..

And now she's/it's running again..

So the here is the lesson:
If you accidently brick your PS3 and nothing seems to help..
Try this!!

I changed back my old HDD.
The "Upps.. Update didn't worked" window appeared again
BUT this time it updated and now I've got the OS I wanted and all my saves an gamefiles are back

btw: the green light didn't stop blinking in my case too

I tried to get the psjailbreak to work and it only worked in downgrade mode so, I tried it. Stuck in service mode, I tried to replace the update as described here and now its giving me the "failed" in the log text file. I really just want to get back to 3.41 and I'll leave it alone. That jailbreak downgrade is a pain in the butt for me right now
mine is semi bricked now too. i just need a download link to the 2 self files and someone with high speed internet to download the update or a torrent

UPDATE : ok I got my system to downgrade from 3.50 to 3.41

Step 4. instead of using update file 3.41 use update file 3.15 (google for it to download)

Follow step 4 (with the 3.15 file instead of 3.41), let it downgrade to 3.15 (this will work), then follow steps 5,6,9,10

Start up the system, you are now in retail mode v3.15.
Now, clear your memory stick and on the root of your memory stick make a folder called "PS3" and then make another folder inside it called "UPDATE"

Put the 3.41 update file in this folder
MEMORY STICK > PS3 > UPDATE > PS3UPDAT.PUP

Then plug your memory stick into your PS3 and go to Settings > System update

Then press install via storage device

Click on the correct device and the PS3 should automatically recognize the file and begin the update feature

Congratz, you are now in v3.41 !
(don't forget to put the PS Jailbreak key in normal mode again)

Anyone having problems with the 3.41 flash not completing (flashing green light, never completes, then dead system until flashed 3.50) then its a problem with the original download linked in the article, although it appears to have been deleted.

The time stamp on the main file was July 2010 so I guess its the original unmodified 3.41 update, where as others are time stamped 11th Nov 2010.

I flashed back to 3.50, ran the second file to take it out of service mode then started again but with the modified file. You may possibly not need to come out of service mode, but I did.

I successfully downgraded to 3.41 now.

I had the same problem with psdowngrader. Got a little desprate and tried the fw file for ecard downgrader and it worked. PS3 had 3.41. But no games would load correctly. No i will try to get the right fw in the box.

I downgraded with DFG.rar, modified 3.41 and got it working. PS3 says 3.41. But no games will run. Have tried games that are confirmed working. But when trying to launch from backup manager or open manager it goes back to the start screen of the ps3. Any ideas. Im using the original ps jailbreak, but think I will return it and go for the elipse instead.

I keep hearing rumors that they were working on something for christmas which has passed. Or they are closed down. I contacted the place where I bought the psjailbreak from but usually they respond to me but now they wont respond concerning the jailbreak. So are they basically gone? is my question. I have searched online bout this but all I can find is what I typed above. Any info is appreciated. If they are gone then that sucks, since there will be no updates to psjailbreak then.
