Can't Update either, when click Download Updates it stops responding for a while and then gives me the following message: "The request channel timed out while waiting for a reply after 00:00:59.9062500... etc."
Then it says "Invalid coupon" on the next message.

The first one, seems like there is to much traffic at the moment and it is not responding.
The second seems like something is missing. maybe a file from the vendor or something with some sort of validation keys for it to work.

Take it easy guys.
It has already been proved here that the actual downgrade is real and works.
So probably it is just a "minor" server problem due to the exceeded traffic there might be (pretty sure everyone was waiting for this today, and so... you get the pict), or there is something we are not doing right.
It seems there is various types of problems.
People report that they are able to download but not update, others can't download... so let's give it a couple of hours or so to see how things work... ;)

I really want to buy one of these, but I need someone to give me some clean cut advise on this. I'm jailbroken on 3.41 via ti-84, but a lot of the games I'm buying aren't working because I need FW 3.50. The spoof doesn't work, and I really want to play online, without the foolish need of buying a new ps3.

Now If I brought this, would it work on 3.41 and I could update and downgrade back and forth or would I need to be on 3.42 or above for it to work.

I just don't want to buy this, I update and it doesn't work or I messed up for not reading and I lose my games in my harddrive and I'm stuck with nothing period.

For those of you having problems getting the PSJailbreak dongle to show up or are getting errors this is what I did.

I am running Windows 7 x64 and I was stumped for awhile trying to figure out how to get this to work as I was getting the "missing libusb0.dll" error.

First thing is to go through the PS Upgrader setup again. Click on the setup.exe and select repair. Next you will see a screen that says it will create an .inf file for your device. Connect your PSJailbreak if you haven't already and click next. You should see an Unknown Device #1, select it and click next. Then fill out the Manufacturer Name and Device Name (for Manufacturer Name I just put PSJ and for Device Name I put PSJailbreak). Click next and whatever you put down as the device name should be what the file will be called. Just click save. If you get a "no resource found" message, don't worry about it.

Now to fix the error in PS Upgrader...

To fix this go into the "Drivers" folder where you installed PS Upgrader. Now go into the "x86" folder and copy the file libusb0_x86.dll

Now paste that file into "C:\Windows\SysW OW64" and rename libusb0_x86.dll to libusb0.dll

Next copy the file libusb0.sys and place that into "C:\Windows\Syst em32\drivers" as that should now fix the error issue.

The next thing is to get your PSJailbreak dongle to show up in Windows. To do this, go into your device manager and you should see a "unknown device." Simply right click on it and select that you want to update the drivers. Then select that you want to browse your computer. Now go to this directory "C:\Windows\SysW OW64" and click next. You should see that it wants to install a driver.

Now your computer should recognize your PSJailbreak :)

Thanks bro. Only problem I'm thinking of is, wouldn't the TI 84 be useless once I use the open sourced downgrade / upgrade though ? Ti 84 only works on 3.41, so wouldn't updating trap if I go to 3.50 or will this be something different ?

I know exploits have not been found for his ti 84 method, however I heard he will put this downgrade method into the 84 when its public.

Well i was screwing arround with my ps3 (black ops inserted) nd if u click update via storage media it allows u 2 update to 3.50 so i clicked ok and even though im running 3.50 it reupdated if u could replace it with 3.41 while somehow masking it as 3.50 that would be a simple downgrade

I updated my dongle with prog_serialnumb er.flv and upgrader_serial number.flv a few hours before psdowngrade was announced today. Afterwards, my dongle is no longer recognized by windows. I get a "USB Device Not Recognized" messege when I plug it in.
Did I accidentally fuck it up beyond repair or is there something I can do? :S

Worked for me after got my email with download link. Its about 170 mb.rar file with the .pup two .self one .txt one .fla and setup for the ps updater 1.1. It took me about 25 min to swap my hard drive and downgrade from 3.50 to 3.41.

PS It wipes out your hard drive

This does not work. Firstly, my computer recognized the PS Jailbreak dongle fine after installing the PS Upgrader software and drivers. It gave me my serial code, the software then downloaded the update, the software flashed the dongle fine. I then put the dongle into the ps3, did the boot sequence and nothing. The ps3 booted normally. Tried it a few more times as maybe i had the timing off, nothing, same thing. I put the dongle back into my PC and now the PC does NOT recognize the dongle and the software reports no dongle plugged into the PC.

Fake update to break every1's PS Jailbreak dongle that didn't buy the update last week?

It's not a hex file, it's an FLA but you can open almost anything with a hex editor. This downgrade file is only supposed to work on the original PSjailbreak, but it doesn't even work at all.

I upgraded just recently from 3.41 to 3.50 coz I could not wait for the downgrader or any cfw to come along, plus it meant I could play my legit copy of NFS:Hot Pursuit (which is ace btw).

If and when the cfw or universal downgrader comes along it might be worth doing. I reckon the universal downgrader will be just around the corner, would be a nice christmas present wouldn't it?

1. When I download and install psupdater 1.2, it still shows as 1.1 when I run the sw. I also get the serial number found and unable to find the fla file error.

2. My jailbreak also came from gadgets asia and the serial number checks out as an original device on psupdater. So has gadgets asia been cloning the serial numbers of official jailbreaks as well?

I just tried 1.3 updater and got pretty far, I managed to download the two files with my serial no, but tried to flash my legit PSJailbreak usb, it failed on both files. Now I am left with a USB brick that doesn't even jailbreak anymore! I have contacted the manufacturer but no response yet. I am pretty annoyed after spendning €100 on it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well graf_chokolo it looks like you were just unlucky then as I got my Jailbreak from Gadget-Asia, originally when I first ordered they were having trouble getting them so they gave me a full refund. Then when they had them in I was contacted with a code to get a discount if I wanted to place order again. I did place order at discounted price and got it through within a week.
Original JB and not a clone. Works perfectly well and downgrades with no problem at all.
Also they replied within 24 hours when I asked them questions as I was polite about it.
With an attitude like yours and being a racist because you have a little trouble with them is it really any wonder they wont reply to you.
I guess that once your hormones have settled down after you have gone through puberty then I am sure you will be able to act like a grown-up rather than a 11 yr old who has a temper tantrum because he can't get what he wants!!!

SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 – Open PS Updater application that install a shortcut on your desktop
Step 2 – Plug in PS Jailbreak and click My Serial (make sure it can recognize and find your serial number)
Step 3 – Click Download updates and it will confirm completion and location.
Step 4 – You will receive 2 files , a) Program (which is PS Jailbreak) and b) Downgrade (which is your downgrader)
Step 5 – Go install file choose the Downgrader file and click Update now
Step 6- After using PS Downgrade to lower your firmware please follow the above steps this time choosing to update file a) Program

DOWNGRADE INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 – Insert PS Jailbreak device that has been reprogrammed as PS Downgrade into your console
Step 2 – Turn on console using same boot method as PS Jailbreak – Press Power then immediately press eject. You will see your console turn with PS Jailbreak lit up with red/green light followed by green only, Then it will turn off.
Step 3 – Turn on console to make sure you are in factory service mode. You will see a huge red box on the screen saying Factory Service Mode, once confirmed please turn off console and remove PS Downgrade Dongle
Step 4 – Program any blank usb with 2 files , A) modified 3.41 pup B) Lv2Diag.self (file 1) These must be the only files on the usb key and must be placed in the main directory of the flash drive.
Step 5 – Insert this new Flash drive into the right USB PORT of your console ( It must be placed in the outermost right port) and turn the console on. You will see black screen but you will see flashing lights on the console (yellow) and on your USB key
Step 6 – Wait 3 minutes for the system to install the old FW, towards the end the power button on the console will start flashing green and then your console will power off.
Step 7 – Remove the usb key and turn on the console , you will still be in factory service mode. Please verify you have downgraded successfully to version 3.41
Step 8 (Optional) – If you wish to downgrade to any older firmware you can not follow step 4,5,6 using any regular firmware PUP. (You do not need to use modified custom firmware now that you are on 3.41)
Step 9 – Insert flash drive back into PC , remove the PUP and Lv2Diag.self and install only LV2Diag.self (file 2) on the USB Flash Drive
Step 10 – Power on your console, after 10 seconds it will power off
Step 11 – Turn on your console with no USB inserted and you will be out of factory service mode into retail mode with your chosen firmware version installed.
JAilbreak your console and enjoy playing homebrew

I got it working with the files from this website. It was stuck on factory mode but I had the usb in the wrong slot.
I read that it has to be in the leftmost usb slot to work, but this didn't work for my slim ps3, it worked on the second usb slot. Maybe give that a try, also make sure your usb is formatted to fat32 - and rename the Lv2diag.self.1 and Lv2diag.self.2 by taking the number 1 or 2 off the end (obvious I know). If you do this it should work. It did for me eventually.

Also for anyone trying to get the firmware working on the psjailbreak key, I eventually managed to get it installed on an old xp computer after numerous tries on a windows 7 pc.
Please bear in mind that all your data will be erased from your ps3 system should you downgrade back to 3.41. I found this out the hard way. Maybe a restore from a backup might help.

servers been down for awhile now, from reading around some said it was to get support for 3.50 by christmas, but its late for that. And some say they are gone completely. Ive been checking on them awhile and to me it seems they are gone. I contacted the place where I bought it from to get info from them. If they are gone I am disappointed, since we cant update. Seems the PS Jailbreak dongle does not have hermes v4, it needs it to play TimeCrisis Raging Storm which wont work right now with the Jailbreak. In the end might have to by a different dongle. Unless someone has any info if the PSJailbreak team is alive.
