PS Downgrade – Compatible with PS3 Firmware 3.42 and Beyond!?

We'll be having our bi-weekly PS3 draw in a couple of hours; in the meantime however, have you seen this? Optimus Crime just sent word about psdowngrade.com. Apparently the original team who brought us PS JailBreak has done it again -- downgrade any PS3 3.42 or 3.50 back to 3.41 or earlier!

Now I have an original PS Jailbreak here, sitting right beside me; however, where's the PS Downgrade software? I tried the leaked software awhile back but that didn't do much, many reported ill behaviour with it too. And the download links on psdowngrade.com are currently broken. PS Downgrade, for the moment, is said to only be compatible with the original PS Jailbreak. If anyone has the software or knows where to get it, please share. Update: All right, so I got the programming software and purchased the $40 upgrade from ps-downgrade.com (an apparent authorized dealer). Just waiting now... Update: I've been in email communication with ps-downgrade.com. They received my order and I should have the goods real soon. Seems promising -- hang tight! Update: Still nothing. And, as you've probably noticed, the video has been removed. "This video has been removed as a violation of YouTube's policy against spam, scams, and commercially deceptive content." Not looking good. Whatever you do -- do not order from ps-downgrade.com. Not yet anyway. Buyer beware.

I assume this is a fake, it's so easy to do.

People say that the same MAC Adresses are a proof.
But is anyone of you guys using the new PSN compatible Payload?

This one just spoofs 3.50 in the System Settings, so even I could easily do this Video.

1. Start the PS3 WITH the Jailbreak = Settings say 3.50
2. Start the PS3 WITHOUT Jailbrak = Settings say 3.41

And all with the same MAC Adress.

So. And with a closer look at the Payloads I'm sure those guys can change the spoof settings to display any FW.

I would recommend not to purchase anything until there is a proper proof this really works, and if it does it's great but on the other hand it's very easy to fake this.

I recently sent one os my PS3s in for service @ 3.50. When it returned it was @ 3.40. I believe a masterkey with a bunch of different functions was leaked/stolen. Slowly these functions are being released.

Too bad that the video was pulled from Youtube. I believe that the downgrade/upgrade process loses clock settings. Did you also notice the date? 1/1 8:00 - today is not 1/1 and I don't think this hack was made in January this year. :)

I suppose they fool the PS3 system upgrade utility by incrementing the available version, 3.42 system will think it will get 3.43 and 3.50 thinks it will get official 3.51 firmware upgrade. Sony probably forgot to harden the system upgrade utility and these guys managed to break it with either overflow attack or they just brute forced a compatible challenge-reply call to the upgrade utility. What comes to the "can be done only once", well maybe Sony has only x.xx version numbers available and this is cleverly using the last available slot, 9.99. :)

My advice is not to downgrade with this because it could very well be that there are plenty of options how to re-enable upgrade-downgrade process for hundreds of times.

dont you guys remember what that guy said on how to downgrade you console? Not sure if it works for anysoft ware but ticky and If i had an extra console i'd try myself but somebody said while the console's upgradeing if you turn off your power while its trying to update you where make an error on your system yes but if you hold down the eject button ur go into the service mode and beable to reinstall an older firmware version. Forget who this was and he only did it when the FW was at 3.15 he upgraded to 3.21 made it miss up the upgrade then used GOD to reinstall FW 3.15 You are also able to re format your hard drive this way too.

In theory it is possible but you would need to have a firmware (very hard) so that its like v3.51 or something but infact have v3.41 code in it. Its possible someone with a nand mod kit of sorts or a debug console could eventually patch a update to do this without cracking the encryption par say.. very very hard but and probably take ages...

We should all remember that when the PSJailbreak first came out every one including myself called it fake what with shoddy videos and a 100 dollar price tag but it turned out to be legit. I'd say wait and see if it is infact legit and if it's reverse engineered

but as of now its not out so dont go buying it anywhere till we have hard proof. what normally happens is psjailbreak says they have something but are working on it then they get money to do some more dev. Then they release it. Now other people want some of this money so they make fake sites and getts people money, Then they wait till the official is released then they clone it and make more money

this is infact REAL over at jailbreakpro . co . uk they are a genuine jailbreak uk sellers and have sent me and email today to say that there will be a downgrade update for the eclps3 dongle, this is because my flat mate updated my ps3 to 3.50 and i asked them what i could and they sent me an email saying the downgrader is on its way.... only for eclps3 dongle's!!! well this is taking the piss the update for psjailbreak which should have worked on 3.41 and ABOVE was meant to be released by the end of october an now where half way through november and yet still no update.
and even if there is an update it seems to me that where going to have to pay for it

I think it's a bit risky going with ps-downgrade.com instead of psdowngrade.com since the one with hyphen seems like the site's thrown together.. The other one looks identical to PSJB's website so there's a better chance it's legit.

i can imagine that if this is real and this is from the psjailbreak team, they will be trying everything they can and taking their time trying to make it unusable on any other device but theirs. after theiir miracle hack device lost nearly all its customers you really cant blame them. but perhaps if they hadnt been charging 150+ dollars and delaying it with no ETA maybe they wouldn't have lost so many orders.
