It's A Wrap For GAME Australia Now

We've been keeping tabs on GAME when they first started to not stock certain games from publishers. That was the start of the long downhill road that the company began to take. We thought that it was going to hit a brick wall but the company saw a ray of light. However, that ray of light wasn't enough and now GAME is going to hit that brick wall.
PriceWaterhosueCoopers, the administrator overlooking GAME has announced that the remaining GAME stores in Australia are to close and that the rest of the staff will be laid off. Leading up to the announcement, GAME had several sales in order to empty out its share of inventory. At the moment, the online store is still accessible, in which it is still providing it's 60% off clearance deal.
Now that GAME has hit the brick wall, there's room for other companies such as GameStop to appear where they once were. Who's going to be your choice of gaming store now?

i wen't to their site to look at what they have online, and just like usual they sell the shitty items that no real gamer buys, and at ridiculous prices.
don't expect 60% off anything good.

As an Aussie and long time gamer im going to be sad to see GAME go, i remember back when it was still called The Game Wizards before being changed to just GAME. Sure we still have EBGames but their deals arent really that great, and more often than not their games (even used ones) are overpriced. I have seen PS3 and 360 games in the used games section, which were selling for only 5 bux cheaper than it cost brand new from GAME! Personally im hoping a NEW company (even something from America would be fine) will take over, the last thing i want is for all the GAME stores to get changed into EBGames...i will NEVER buy from them. So GameStop or whoever there is, please come to Aussieland! We need you and your deals lol
