How to Play COD: Black Ops on a Hacked PS3

She's not the clearest tutorial, but MRDOCA has something to get you going... Call of Duty: Black Ops requires firmware 3.50 to play; however, it appears to be compiled against the 3.40 SDK, which means hacked PS3s at 3.41 can play Black Ops no problem, albeit offline (PSN). Me personally, I haven't confirmed this working; other sources speak positive about it though. How to play COD: Black Ops on PS3 3.41

I extracted the EBOOT.BIN file and PRAM.SFO from the 1.02 debug update modified them and made a pack here: Mod Pack: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RFJ4NUNH (make sure you backup all your files first incase you do something wrong) Step One download the files and go to where you put your game and edit your pram.sfo to say 3.40 with PS3SFOEdit (included In pack) Step Two Update the game to 1.02 using the retail update for your region. Title ID - BLUS30591: http://b0.ww.np.dl.playstation.net/t...2-V0100-PE.pkg Title ID - BLES01035: http://b0.ww.np.dl.playstation.net/t...2-V0100-PE.pkg Title ID - BLES01032: http://b0.ww.np.dl.playstation.net/t...2-V0100-PE.pkg Step 3 after your update has finished, open comgenie or ftp and go to: dev_hdd0/GAME/"Blackops"/PS3_GAME and put the eboot in the pack here Step 4 go to dev_hdd0/GAME/"Blackops"/PS3_GAME/USRDIR now if you have the BLES01032 version just use the SFO.PRAM file inc in my pack and place it in that directory overwriting the old one. if you have another version of the game use PS3SFOEdit to edit your sfo to say 3.40 in advanced edit. SAVE IT then replace it. Step 5 double check everything, Then play. The next part comes from hunter128 from here and seems to only apply if you have run the game previously and been prompted to update. After you install the pkg launch a FTP server and go to /dev_hdd0/mms/db/ and search a file called metadata_db_hdd open it in a hex editor and search 3.50, and change to 3.41.

Where are the updates that were coming thick and fast when this started out. They are gone. All the big names are gone, walked away from this scene. They know it can't be hacked any further than 3.41 - simple.

Tell us something... How many games can you play on a jailbroken ps3? Do you have any idea at least? Fuck Black Ops! We just have too many games we need to finish before playing this one. And do i need to play online? Not really... But if i want to play online what do i do? I just use my computer or the hundreds of wii games i have.

But forgeting the games talk... We all are expecting for something to come, yes! Some more homebrew developing wich may allow us to explore this great machine a little bit more. And do you know why? There is a cfw but you have to make it yourself. All you need to do is remove the blu ray drive from PS3. Make sure you flip it on its side and shove it up your ass, it will hurt at first but an ass fucker like you should be able to manage it all. Make sure you keep all wires connected and turn on PS3!!!
If you are that bothered about online buy another PS3 or go rent your ass out if you cant afford it or ask you mummy if you know who she is.
Also in 6-12 months as you put it jailbreakable ps3s will be worth quite a lot of money you fucking retard as tehy will be hard to come by.

This simple fact is we don't know what is to come. It is not inconceivable to think that there are existing and well-developed means to run unsigned code on later retail software iterations. Mathieulh even suggested so on Twitter a few weeks ago.

The reason these have not been opened to the public is so visible it hurts. Regardless of how the PSJailbreak exploit came into being - the open source effort only began because the awareness caused expectation. And given that the number one goal of the original dongle was piracy, and it still is the most common use, it is no wonder that serious developers steer clear of the 'scene' as is. Fortunately the most skilled developers have a tendency to also hold a much better set of ethics when it comes to piracy.

In addition, up until now the only way to write executable code for the system was to use the leaked (illegal) Sony SDK. SonyLuvsU fails to take into account that with the continuing growth of the open and legal SDK, the PS3 becomes a much more appetizing and rewarding prospect for serious developers. There are fewer ethical and certainly much fewer legal issues.
Of course, if (when) jailbreak-permitted Linux arrives, the amount of free, open, and useful software will suddenly become unfathomable. Of course that might not be as exciting a prospect for those of you more interested in piracy.

The prospect of 'custom firmware' is an odd one. Though it is always 'possible', and I do hope that it happens, I'm not putting all my eggs in that basket. My main concern there is PSN, think of the chaos!

Anyway, try and retain some civility, mmkay? There are always bound to be doubters, sure as there are bound to be enthusiasts, to live and let live. Sorry about the essay...

I personally have 2 momdded ps3 and 1 slim i use for online not that i get to play much .
But either case things with the modding scene will come.

I still for one wish there was standardation in the JB devices so the daily update for this divice woudl stop .

as far as homebrew I was excited to see pong and new snes emus was a plus and look forward to what ever else comes.

My versions ID is: BLES01031 , i have installed the patch and updated param.sfo but the disc icon in the game menu says "unsupported data" and when i try to start game from app_home it says you cannot play this game at the current video setting(80028F10). i am usinig minimus avr with hex v4b and tried OM1.17.1 and gaia 1.13.01

Here are really easy steps.

1) Buy game at store. (Very important)
2) Put game in hacked ps3.
3) Run update.
4) Play and enjoy.

Silly pirates, stop being a lamer and just buy the game like the rest of us. If you can obviously afford the speed necessary to download it, then you can afford to buy it.

There is zero reason to hack a ps3, except if your a pirate, and 'we want homebrew' is not a reason. Im betting the PS4 will cost 2000 dollars because of the 2 billion layers of protection it will have.

1st the game director you look for the 1st param sfo to edit is in
dev_HDD0/GAME/LAUN12345/BLxxxxx/PS3_GAME/HERE!

there are two param.sfo 's to edit and when you edit them if your using windows 7 like me the copy and replace method doesnt work when saving on the ps3 or thumb drive YOU MUST DELEATE THE OLD ONE OR SAVE IN NEW DIRECTORY WHEN REPLACING!!

THE EBOOT BIN FILE YOU MUST OVERWRIGHT IS A BITCH TO IM NOT SURE WHICH ONE WORKED BUT IT WAS THE ONE THAT WAS 5MB I OVERWROTE WITH THE 10 MB ONE !1

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST DONT TRY TO START THE GAME WHEN DONE EDITING YOU MUST RESTART THE PS3 1ST TO GET ALL THE FILE CHANGES TO TAKE AFFECT

you probably changed the eboot and the param.sfo from the "iso loader program (openmngr, flex, gaia)" and i believe it you where supposed to change those just in hd00/game/bles1032.. HOWEVER, although i dont get the unssuported data messege, i still get the, "please update to
3.50" one.. so.. not much better either. Still working on it...

I still can't play this I have followed every step and I did this whole thing twice and when I try to start the game with Gaia Manager without any patches enabled it freezes on the home screen or it just gives me a black screen and then when I turn I back on I have to rebuild the database...Can someone please help me out?

Simple tutorial, no need for hex edit
(i use Gaia Manager 1.0.3.1, the game folder for this game is HDD/GAMEZ/BLES01031 )

Download this patch:
hXXp://www.mediafire.com/?8c3q...

Unpack patch and overwrite files trough ftp.
(so: HDD/GAMEZ/BLES01031/PS3_GAME & overwrite everything)

Then use the manager to load the game (blue ray disc inside).

Note: if you have the update folder in hdd0/game from previous methods DELETE IT.

ok here is the deal.
i tested this method on the european version and the us version. the only version that works with this is the GERMAN one (BLES01032) . And what should be mentioned is that you have to reboot your ps3 after making the changes to your metadata_db file. Also you have to set Require Disc to On in Open Manager 2.1I . I used Hermes v4b with psn support btw.

Black ops Is full of s h I t , they took out patch blocker . They took out everything . The only way possible to the hacks is on FireWire 3.41 and when you do that it tells you to update but dw D!zY working on a prestige hack after patch 1.03 ps don't try using patch blocker or you account will get reset
