Help Bring Blu-ray Back!

If you're one from the unfortunate bunch who've downgraded only to learn you can no longer watch Blu-ray movies, then you should probably know about this ongoing project in hopes to restore playback. The Central Scrutinizer on top of things and so far it's been made clear that consoles with 256MB NAND are affected -- you will no doubt, 100%, lose Blu-ray playback if your console is one of the following outlined in red:

Loss of Blu-ray movie playback has nothing to do with the modified PUP or device used. So don't buy into any marketing gimmicks. There is a team called Project #PS3Bluray who are rallying the troops: Download the app below, run it on your hacked PS3, confirm the 3 generated files and email the zip -- keep DRL1/DRL2 to yourself. Be sure to take a look at README.txt before anything else. Project #PS3Bluray aims to collect as many DRL files as possible and then hopefully deliver a fix to those affected. You can help out by sending your DRL files -- it doesn't matter if Blu-ray movies are working or not -- just send it. The file doesn't contain anything personal, nothing can be traced back to you ... other than the email I guess. Download: DRLbackup v0.01 - source: psgroove

looking at the chart i find it kinda funny i bought a 2nd ps3 4 modding model:cechg so i upgraded my current ps3 to SFW 3.55 i just checked my current ps3 model:cechl, thankfully the 1 i bought is SFW 3.21 and a demo unit so no need 2 downgrade, and on the subject of the bluray problem its seems to me maybe when u put the ps3 (pre cechg) it has an extra protocol that you need 2 reactivate, perhaps this is why sony went from changed the NAND from 256 to 16, just a theory

hey guys follow gorgo he has the best fixes ever on his site it has 3 new firmwares which he modified and exploited to the max i now cause there are only chosen few allowed on his beta site which were not allowed at this time to broadcast in case spys try shut his site down dev 1.2 does work and firmware which you swap from original disks also the only one with homebrew channel just like wii also those who are trying this software on this page becareful cause its only beta wait.......for gorgo

check your ps3 package box.. it's written somewhere there... it's a code like cech-2004a then check the 1st photo on this post....

BTW looking at the FULL chart, does this mean the blu-ray playback problem is only to old "Phat/Fat" PS3? and old "Phat/Fat" PS3 when they first came out?

Thanx mate, I dont have the box any more put I did find it on a sticker on the bottom of my PS3 "CECHG03". Its the SONY sticker and the code is in the lower right corner.

With the code "CECHG" it will lose blu-ray playback if I start updating and downgrading, I better stay on 3.41 and love playing my backups and blu-ray movies on that firmware.

BTW I have backup my dev_flash folders, if there is someone out there that has a "CECHG" console and lose blu-ray playback? maybe if you use my backups it will fix your problem?

Will it fix it???????? i dont know.....

if you ffp and save your dev flash 2 and dev flash 3 folders from the ps3 beforehand - then you can just copy them over after you downgrade upgrade back to 3.41 and bluray is back again

i downgraded from 3.41 to 3.15 back to 3.41 just for curiosity - and these files saved me

i wanted to install 2.15debug firmware but it wouldnt work for me - neither would 3.41debug firmware

apparantly goinf to recovery mode and restoring the os worls too? but not sure on that one!!

what if you never downgraded i never updated from official Sony 3.41 firmware and i have the original 60gb fat ps3 i havent tested blu-rays in it since i bought a second ps3 to play legitimate games and blu-rays and am leaving the 60gb to the homebrew and if there is no problem i would gladly backup my flash folders and run this tool and give it to who ever needs it or send it to these guys above let me know thanks

Sucks to see problems with the blu-ray movies not working. If I had a hacked PS3 guys I would help but I wen't legit so I can have my online. I'm sure there will be a fix out for it soon.

For sites saying there product fixes the blu-ray problem what a cheap move you fail.

im pretty new to the whole ps3 jailbreak thing, but i will have to agree with aba and Hey Mr. I want it all says. if you cant take the problems for all the hard work all these people put into allowing us game backups among many other great features idk why you even bother. im thinkin everybody who didnt contribute to the work that was put in for any ps3 hacks should just fuck off. if i could help i glady would but if i saw a bunch of ignorant fucks complaining how there blu ray currently doesnt work id wonder why i shared my work with any of you that complain about it.

i used the e3 card reader i followed a video step by step that that dude chris made and did research before i started i figured o well i manly play games and hardly play blu-ray movies but i figured it would be like my psp be able to add it later in the dev-flash and the vsh but i havent tried that yet but i have tried just downgrading farther in the rabbit hole all the way down to 2.30 i found it odd that 2.20 , 2.17 and 2.10 and lower doesnt work anybody no why o i did them with usb flash im bored and i figured ill will help out

A fix has been found. It's a bit messy at the moment, and requires you to extract data from the highest played BD using a PC, hex edited then inserted into the ps3 flash.

Give it a couple more days.
