1. In the Settings menu, right at the top, is System Update. Select this and when asked tell it to Update Via Internet. The PS3 will then check for any updates. If it finds one the download will begin. The average size of these updates will be in the range of 100 MB so it may be an idea to do something else for a few minutes while it downloads.
2. Once the download is finished it will ask you to hit X on the controller to start the install. The system will restart and ask you to connect the controller with the USB cable and hit the PS button. The screen that shows up should say Firmware Update with the version number and at the bottom you will see X to start the install. Hit X and you see a software agreement- hit right on the D-Pad until you get to "agree or do not agree". Select agree to start the install. Again, this will take a few minutes. When it is done you will hit X to restart the system. A quick reboot and you are done and ready to check out the new stuff.
Hopefully, you're updated and voila you can access the PSN and online content. haha. :))

@xShadow125 You can update from your pwn pup only from 3.55 or lower, unless you have an exploit.
@xShadow125 Of course that should be fixed in upcoming lv0 revisions anyway (By moving the ldrs to the top of lv0)
@xShadow125 You run the 3.60 lv0, then you switch the nor, and pull the cell reset line, and you dump the extra KBs where the loaders are.
@xShadow125 Basically you have a nor with 3.55 (or lower) lv0 and your own small lv1 code that does the dump, and 3.60 lv0 on the other.
@xShadow125 You wont get all of lv0 but the part with the loaders shouldn't be overwritten.
@xShadow125 You can actually get all the 3.60 keys/loaders without knowing lv0 keys by dumping lv0 from ram with dual nor and signed lv1.
@xShadow125 That's from an older lv0, the method to get the data isn't the same, the one I posted was a dump, this one is a decryption
@xShadow125 There is a nice way to dump pre 3.55 lv0 as well by using a small lv1 binary, it's a risky process though.
@xShadow125 Oh! You mean my pm ? congrats, you just figured I have had lv0 dumped/decrypted for quite some time xD
@xShadow125 Reminds me of those stupid lv2 overflows I spotted ages ago in the bdemu code, which are useless now on 3.55+ anyway.
Now it's just of a matter of having the major advanced skills to do it, we talking NOR flasher, super-great soldering, extra PS3's to possible waste in the cracking experience, but is anyone capable here to do so?
If so, more recent tweets from Mathieulh, tell you how to possible build a new v3.60 PUP:
i saw this on PSX_SCENE
NOT BY ME

I managed to compile and boot chololo's kernel as well. I get:
ps3@debian:/media$ free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 217632 186536 31096 0 3080 56708
-/+ buffers/cache: 126748 90884
Swap: 463864 380 463484
Two patches from Marcan's git repo were needed to get the lv1 memory. I uploaded the two debian packages. Just extract and install with
dpkg -i *.deb
then cd to /boot and
mv vmlinux-2.6.38-rc6 vmlinux
mv initrd.img-2.6.38-rc6 initrd.img
reboot and check it out.

Hope this helps.

I don't understand why you said you only see 1 CPU? Should you not see 1 Core + 2 Threads?
You won't get the other 8 SPE's active in linux, only applications that run IN linux take control of the SPE/SPU's and decide whether to run code in them or not.
Debian still requires 256MB+ of ram, until someone slims down the distribution it's not going to run VERY FAST but decent enough that it is useable, and reading/writing from a flash drive is bad it kills it quicker because it has to access it constantly and the USB port isn't an I/O port for those kind of things so expect there to be some lag.
