Gitbrew BETA Brick Fix

Submitted by greg; October 22, 2011

If you've bricked your PS3 somehow, someway, then give this a shot... Gitbrew shares a PUP and an Lv2diag SELF that *may* recover your console. Keep in mind however; this is beta, it only works on firmware 3.55 or lower, and has only been tested on OtherOS++ NAND bricks & bricks caused by PUP updater file errors. No idea if it'll fix a Waninkoko brick or not ... you know, from way back in the early hacking and CFW days. How to:
  1. Put both files into the root directory of a flash drive.
  2. Put the dongle into the ps3 while it is off and start it.
  3. If the flash drive is activated it can be fixed using this.
  4. If it however does not, the only fix for it until a software side is found is a hardware flasher.
Visit the source for the files. - source: gitbrew

Right now, this might work but if anyone wants to unbrick there PS3 the most effective way I've done it is get into soft recovery mode which is the hold the power button trick and reinstall a FW of your choice, if still NO good go head and rebuild section and insert a OFW in Usb  ps3 port and rebuilt will be in process.

Doesn't always work for most as many case Bricks errors are different from each other. Last resort if any of that doesn't work well purchase a E3 flasher and reflash the Nor Chip with correct PUP file from there CFW

I have a PS3 That a friend gave me about a year ago that he shut off durring an update. I have just been holding on to it. It would always just turn on with no video green light would stay on for about 30 seconds then just beep then shut off.........

So I just put this drive in USB fired it up and the USB drive light flashes a bunch. Then stays solid then the green light starts flashing still no video. But it stays on now still flashing. I going to leave it for a little while and see if anything happens.

Hmm, did your friend use an HDMI cable and your using a non-HDMI (or vice versa)?

If so, did you try holding the power button when turning it on (this will reset the video settings)

that happened to me and i was able to fix it by waiting while it was on until it shut off again. i turned it back on after and it turned on into factory service mode and all i had to do was exit service mode and it works
