Get Back on PSN with PS3YES Hex - 3.41 and 3.15 Working!

Congratulations to xoeo who has hacked his way back onto PSN. Compiled for you are two hex files, one for 3.15 and the other 3.41, which pack a modified payload that re-enables PSN access... for now. These hex files can be flashed to the PS3YES or any other device equipped with the AT90USB162 at 16MHz. Other builds will likely follow. Be warned though -- Sony will likely jump on this fixing it quick. They may even detect that you're behind a hacked PS3 putting you at risk of getting banned. Play smart. Update: ricardopvz has shared PSGroove with PSN for Arduino Duemilanove and Arduino Mega boards. Fetch those in the same package below. Update: PSGroove-Maker has been updated to include Hermes v4b with PSN support. There you can generate your own download package for a variety of different boards. It's pretty awesome. Update: The PSGroove package below has been updated to include hex files for just about every board. Also, Waninkoko's PSFreedom for Dingoo has been updated to include PSN support. We'll have more for you soon. Update: Blake_Zero has updated his PSFreedom Palm Pre port to include PSN support. Get that below too. Please lets use common sense here, only play online with the games you own and have disks for. Don't be going online with backups, especially with no disc mode. Sony is not stupid they will find a way to detect it and we will all lose in the end. Maybe just maybe if we use retail discs then it will slow them down and we can enjoy access longer. This does not however allow backups to be started. I get a error (80010009) when trying to start any game. Although if you do own a legit copy of a game it will start and allow online access. Guess it's time for me to get another dongle instead of re-flashing everytime. Hermes 4vb for backups and ps3yes for games i own but want to play online with others via psn. plus I can now upload my trophies again. Best of both worlds!

I tried the hermes v4b-psn from psgroove maker and still no psn. I re-flashed with ps3yes minimus v1 and success again. The hermes v4b-psn is broken. Check again might be old v4b w/o the psn added payload still included.

1) Sony will block the exploit into PSN. When, how and will you get banned is unknown.

2) Will you get banned from PSN? Well, who cares? You modded your PS3 and by doing that you know full well you will get banned sometime. And if you don't you can't go online seems as you have to update it meaning you can't hack it again. So what difference does it make.

All you people seem to want everything, and do everything right away. You want to have backups, play online and everything else that people seem to moan about. Well, just be patient. Hackers don't get paid for this sort of stuff and myself, being a student studying Computer Security realises that it is bloody hard to find an exploit! So why can't people just me grateful that they get the whole scene for free?!

Tryed this on my X3max on firmware 3.41.
I used X3 programming tool and flashed the generic firmware that comes with the program. Ive then also tried about 5 different hex files and rebootd my console with the X3 max and still get a message asking me to update.

Maybe the PSN rules doesnt specific say that it is not allowed to connect to PSN without having to use the latest PS3 firmware, but originally you have to have the latest firmware to be able to connect to PSN.

To be able to connect to PSN without using the latest PS3 firmware, then you have to modify the PS3. The PS3 EULA says that it is not allowed to modify your PS3, so the PS3 EULA already has this covered even if it should specifically say that you arent allowed to connect to PSN without the latest firmware, because this isnt possible to do without having to do some modifications.

alot of people forgot that the ps3 generates a list of games that has been played on the ps3. if sony looks at that list and see 15+ games (ball park number) has been played on that ps3 it starts to look fishy.
i am 100% behind the scene and im not saying dont go online just be smart and dont put yourself out there if you wish to one day have CFW and psn toghter. remember once you sign in all your trophies will be updated as well. if you went from having 2 to 10, people notice. just as there are snitches on this site that work for sony there are snitchs that check shit like that on psn. black opps is swamped with rats right now. great job with a step in the right direction.

no matter if you go disc-less or not it doesn't matter sony can tell your plying on a jailbroken ps3 because you will be playing on a debug console so even if you have a legit copy of the game its no different then running from a back up. in conclusion no matter what you do as long as you sign in on a jailbroken ps3 you run the risk of being banned. Lets take a trip down memory lane...

Last year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is released. 5 days later, 4 million consoles are banned from xbox live.

Now, fast forward to this year...

Call of Duty: Black Ops is released. 3 days (or whatever) later a PSN hack is released for jailbreakers.

Call me sceptical, but this seems like a little too much of a coincidence to me. Seems like a marketing ploy to boost sales on the PS3, as it was for the xbox.

Just my 2 cents.

It would not surprise me if Sony leaked or developed some 'hack' that would allow jailbroken consoles on PSN right after the release of a GIANT game- enter BLACK OPS- KNOWING that they could and would be able to trace those consoles THROUGH said hack. Quoted this because it's important. Personally I wouldn't go as far as saying Sony is behind this hack (though I wouldn't put it past them either) but they can easily see you're running a hacked PS3, be it trough the FW version number (not sure if they can see this, but I would bet so) or, as someone said, any non-Sony program you're running on your PS3. If you can even see it trough the friends list...
So I would wait until a program is developed that allows the FW version to show up as the latest one, and that hides whatever homebrew you're running at that moment. Once that happens, we're golden.

Hey Everyone! I would love to play again some of my games or "backed up" ;) games online. I'm afraid of using this, because I don't want my console to get banned. I currently use the Ti-84 Exploit, and GAIA manager or the original Backup Manager. I heard that if you play games online with the hack, SONY can detect you through the GAME ID of the backup manager that is "LAUN-12345". Is there some way that I can play online without the risk of sony detecting me?

If you think that not having 'Open Manager' showing as your 'Currently playing', will prevent you from being banned, you're being silly.

Sony will be able to see that you're using hacked firmware to connect to their servers. They expect certain packets to be sent with exact details to them, in a call/respone style. This payload appears to mimic the last known 'sniffed' packets, as well as some frmware emulation. As soon as sony changes these security packets slightly, they can see numerous machine details of everyone who has hacked their machine.

In short, a software mod of this type is never going to be secure online using Sony servers... But as you probably won't ever be 'safe' using a hacked console, getting banned doesn't really bother me. I use my original PS3 for PSN duties, but like to try before I buy.

What are the chance that there will actually be a mass ban for everyone who logs on with a hacked console? I mean I know xbox live banned thousands of people a while back for cheating or something like that, but would Sony really put forth the effort to do it, just to have a a system that's hacked? I'm not talking about ppl trying to play backups online, as they're pretty stupid and def. deserve to be banned. I'm talking about the people who have actual bought games but have a hacked console. I desperately want to play some of my legit games that I own online, but I'm just afraid of this whole banning risk. I'm hoping that people find a way to hack 2.5 consoles soon so we could all just go online and have it a little easier.

anyone having issues with PL3 but have success with hermes take note....The timing is different with the power/eject for pl3 simply.... as soon as you hit psgroove in your ipl on the ipod hit start/eject ...thats all i did and it finally worked. thanks a lot people big thanks to the kind folk over at psx scene also.
