Gaia Manager RC9 Released *Updated*

Submitted by greg; October 17, 2010

If you're using one of the latest payloads -- psfMod or PL3 or Hermes v4 or Hermes v3 + Game Updates + Retail PKG -- then you should be using drizztbsd's Gaia Manager as well. That way you're sure to be taking advantage of all the latest features. And real quick in related news: PL3 has been merged in with the official PSGroove repository at github. Woot woot! RC9 Features:
  • Fix "Copy Selected" and "Delete Selected" regression
  • Fix settings saving/reloading. Now the file is settings.cfg. Save also hdd_folder to settings.cfg instead of rewriting EBOOT.BIN
  • Add support for GAMESDIR/COVER.PNG, now you can put in your cover in your game directory (old directories still work)
RC8 Features:
  • Show build version
  • Remember the last enabled L1, L2, R1, R2 options and reload them on application start-up
  • Fix select+start that didn't save the new selected directory
  • (dev) Code cleaning, removed goto and splitted some functions in another file
RC7 Features:
  • Remove the Mathieulh's patch since it's integrated in a PSGroove fork and pl3, this allow Gaia Manager to work with old payloads. Please use psfMod 0.9.6.0 (or newer) or that psgroove payload

can someone explain the separate pkg's? GAMEZ and BDRip? do I just install both or install one, based on the occasion?

that's the directory where you keep your backed up games. if you prefer BDRIPS, use that pkg. If you prefer GAMEZ, use that one. Kind of silly I know.

I love Gaia. This manager is really moving in the right direction. I also love the latest payloads and what they're starting to open up. Ditto for them.

I still use OpenManager 1.16, can i update to Gaia without any Problems? Will it delete my Games or something like that? Is it possible to change the Game directory back to my current Oman thing?

Only change over if u changing your payload it will delete your game because when u delete open manager it will delete the Oman folder. I would make a GAMEZ folder with FTP sever 1st on the root of the HDD0 and copy the games over if you going to do this. But as i said only do it if u changing your USB hack stick payload.

Think I'm going back to the old payload and to Open manager as this Gaia Manager and the PL3 don't work with most of my games that used to work.

You don't necessarily "have" to choose between Gaia, OM, or BM. If you install them, they install into their own areas and you can try them as you please. In fact, I use Gaia now to play the games and do updates and I use BM2 to backup my games into the Gamez directory. I just keep going with what is working.

Still can't get half my games to work and I've updated
to PL3 plus running GAIA RC9. GOW III just resets
after attempting to load. Big Little Planet the same.
Nor does MKVSDCU work. However, some games such as
Wipeout HD, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Tekken 6,
Gran Turismo Prolouge ALL WORK FINE. I'm doing this
from internal hard drive also by the way.
Do these SFO files need to be edited or what?

Ha ha haaaay! FTP server is included. No need now for ftp server or blackbox.pkg now. I like this feature in Gaia Manager.

Meh the literal translation of that commandment actually pertains to kidnapping. stealing is forbidden elsewhere but is no where close to the seriousness of a commandment.

I am having the same issues. I keep trying to launch Fifa 11 via OM or Gaia and it trys to boot but loops back to the XMB. This is driving me nuts. I've FTP'd and copied via USB stick to my internal with still no luck. Any ideas or suggestions?

Yeah, I belive you need to have a game in the drive when you got to start the game.

I was having the same issue with reseting to the xmb, but when I put a differnt game in the drive, the game I saved to my ps3 worked perfect.
